Mountaineering  33 years of experience of our Staff practicing Mountaineering makes the difference. All this knowledge and experience is used to plan, organize, develop, and lead all the activities for our students at Guatemalensis. 

Excursions to the wilderness are sometimes physically and mentally challenging educational activities. The environment will require, even in the simplest tasks, planning, communication, and teamwork; mountaineering is the best resource to learn and practice many skills that will be useful in the future. As a sport, mountaineering is one of the most complete adventures that can help your health and mind.

Hiking and Trekking  Guatemala is rich in diversity of landscapes, valleys, mountains, forests, and villages. Through the hiking and trekking activities, it is possible to immerse yourself in the culture and nature of the backcountry, to meet and get to know the people, their villages, their lifestyles; and of course a good opportunity for exercise.

Backpacking  Actually more and more people are traveling using backpacks, which gives you an autonomy of movement and displacement making travel easy.

Leadership  Training occurs throughout all your studies at Guatemalensis. Outdoors learning is often immediate; the experience, confidence, competence, organization, security, teamwork, openness to questions, and skills gained can be used another day in other life situations.

Outdoor Skills  Our Spanish Language Program gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself through outdoor activities of learning, practicing, remembering, and acquiring new skills. At Guatemalensis, our priority is the safety and protection of our students.     

Rock Climbing    Included in your tuition you have the opportunity to learn to climb indoors and outdoors. GSS has been practicing and teaching rock climbing for many years.

Biking Mountain Biking gives you the opportunity of experiencing an alternative way of tourism, knowing new places and landscapes, breathing pure air, enjoying villages, the people, and the backcountry.

Adventure   Are you looking for an adventure that combines lots of physical activity and unforgettable experiences while getting to know a new culture? Guatemalensis offers you a choice. Imagine yourself trekking through cloudy forests, climbing an imposing volcano, camping in a highland forest, or simply taking a relaxing hot bath in a natural hot spring. Come prepared for a lot of walking and use of public transportation in our activities during the week and excursions every weekend.
