Girl Scout Bronze Award

Troop 167

Nursing Home Project

The Bronze Award is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn.  It requires a lot of planning and dedication.  It shows they have made a promise to help others, improve their community and world, and become the best they can be.  The first three requirements of the award will help build skills and prepare for the fourth requirement, the actual Bronze Award project.

On July 12, our interested troop members met to learn about the Bronze Award.  During this meeting, the girls divided into two project groups.  One group decided to do a community service project involving animals at the Humane Society of Silicon Valley.  The other group of five girls has decided to assist residents living in a local nursing home.  This website will be used to track the Nursing Home Project progress.

Requirement 1: Earn two badges that are related to the project

Requirement 2: Complete one the Girl Scout Signs

Requirement 3:  Earn one of the following:

Requirement 4:  Do a Girl Scout Bronze Award project consisting of 15 hours (including planning time).  This project shows the leadership skills you have learned as a Junior Girl Scout, and your commitment to your community and to yourself.  To earn this award, you will do a project that shows you understand and live by the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
