Troop Budget-Each parent and scout looks at their schedules and sets a unit goal. A fundraising calendar is provided with an estimated cost of the year end trip. The scouts then compute their individual profit from each fundraiser. All individuals are totaled to create a troop budget.
Spring Flowers and Vegetables-Our most profitable fundraiser, this project has netted $4,000. We spend a lot of time and grow some very good looking flowers and vegetables.
Driller Stadium Clean-up-This is an easy fundraiser. The girls like it because they don't have to sell something.
Pansies-In the fall we grow a small amount of pansies. They look great and we contact our spring customers.
Beat the Heat-We did this one at the request of our Chamber of Commerce. We offered drinks at the Fourth of July festival.
Sewing on Badges-We would sew on badges onto uniforms at a cost of 50 cents each.
Car Hop-Sonic Drive In offered youth groups the chance to learn how to car hop. The group would get to keep the tips.
Cookie and Calendar Sales
Cookie orders in our Counsel occurs during the last few weeks of January. Deliveries are made in March. Calendars are sold during November. If you would like to purchase either cookies or calendars, you can do so from any local troop or from the counsel office in your area. Cookie and Calendar profits support the counsel camp sites and counsel activities as well as troop activities like ours. Without the support of our counsel and that of the counsels we visit none of our activities would be possible.
