Cut both legs off of jeans about 3" from crotch of pants. Place patches randomly on back of jeans and iron-on according to patch instructions. Turn jeans inside out and sew legs closed, rounding into pillow shape as sewing. Turn jeans right side out and sew top of jeans closed. Stuff jeans with the fiberfill through the zipper, close zipper. Thread bandanna through belt loops and tie in front.
Note: We keep a folded plastic bag stuffed in one front pocket and a folded
pillow case in the other. When we are outside we can put our sit-upon in the
plastic bag to keep it from getting dirty on the ground and use the sit-upon inside the pillowcase for our pillow at night.
Enlarge the three faces emblem to approximately and 8x10 size. Trace onto contact paper backwards and cut out. Do the same for the letters GIRL SCOUTS (about 2" in height). Remember to trace pattern pieces on backwards on the contact paper. Take backing off of contact paper and place clear pieces onto the shirt in the center.
Pour undiluted bleach into spray bottle. Spray shirt with bleach. Let shirt sit for about 8 minutes taking pattern pieces off after about 6 minutes. Immediately put the shirt into the bucket of water. Let stay in water for a few minutes, then take out and immediately rinse under cold running water. Hang to dry.
Prepare ahead of time: Drill holes the diameter of the cord into opposite sides of the top of the can for the handle using an electric drill. File holes smooth.
Cut contact paper to fit around can. Smooth onto can. Cut circle out of contact paper for top of lid. Put on. Cut area in contact paper where holes are in the can. Hot glue the top edge of the lace around the top of the can. Cut slits in the lace on both sides at holes. Thread cord through both holes and tie a knot on the inside. Hot glue knot to secure.
We then decorated by using cut-outs from wrapping paper, etc and gluing (with Elmer's glue) onto the sewing kit. We wrote our names on them with permanent markers.
We then filled with sewing supplies.
