What is Winter Whirl?
Winter Whirl...what is it? Winter Whirl is annually sponsored by our Girl Scout Council. Basically, you bundle up in layers of clothing, and go camping during the winter time. One immediate advantage, no bugs! As if we were camping in the spring, groups of people are made and are assigned different "kapers" (or chores). These chores include:
~Setting up a "bird bath" (container of water for hand washing) because there is no running water,
~Cleaning the latrines (toilets)
~Starting the Fire
~Dinner/meal preparation
~"Host"s (choose the grace and make a centerpiece)
There are many different levels. To get to level III you have to have completed level II twice, to get to IV you have to have completed level III twice, etc. The girls in our troop are either on level I, their first of two level II's or their second of two level II's. Good luck this year in Winter Whirl everyone!!

(It should be interesting, considering that we got 2' of snow last week!)
