tuned GTO'95MR Wins SSR11 All-Night I Again, in alternate game

I have started another game ("silver" game, after the approximate colour of its memory card). This time I just want to see how quickly and cheaply I can win all the race gold cups. I am now well on my way, but needed to enter the Sunday Cup twice to get started. Some other day I would like to see if I can win all the cups but avoid entering any event twice. The early strategy of my game is to win the Cr68800 needed to buy a Dodge Viper RT/10. Once I've got that I can get close to sweeping the (this time I did sweep) the Normal Series, and win close to Cr400,000. It's possible then to tune the Supra prize (if you get it) and use that for various tuned events, and possibly some non-tuned events as well.

I bought the passion red GTO'95MR just before winning the Normal (with the proceeds of the RT/10 winning the FR series), because the red one was soon to disappear from the Mitsubishi inventory. I did win the SupraRZ in the Normal, but decided to continue with the GTO'95MR because it's easier to drive. I had started with the GTO'92, but it will cost just as much to get that ready for the 4WD series as to tune the '95MR, so I sort of think that is not a good starting car after all. Although one possible objective to state is to not buy more than one car, (well, two--you sort of need to buy a Normal competitor) and, in that case, the 4wd series is the only series for which you cannot guarantee to win a competitor. In short, this game is a little short of a minimal Gran Turismo solution.

I've made good use of the tuned GTO'95MR so far in this game. It seemed the easiest way to win the UKvsJP--unfortunately it won the delSol LM so as of yet I have no car eligible and capable of winning the UKvsUS.

I didn't take a lot of practice runs, or analyse the tire wear much, but went with a 7,15,23 strategy which allows a short first shift, compensating for the extra tire wear which seems to result from a fast start. I sort of think this car might suit a four stop strategy (every 6 laps), however.

I led from stat to finish, lapping the entire field at least once. I lapped the first car on lap 10, and was just beginning to lap the field just before my second pit stop, but I did not have to re-pass to many of them.

By my second pit-stop on lap 23 I had lapped the entire field, and it stuck, and I lapped the Impreza (curiously the game decided to enter a black Impreza--rather difficult to see) a second time close to the end. (The Lantis I had lapped three times).

I had a couple of minor mishaps which slowed down my last two laps.

I won Cr150,000, and a red Silvia LM. 8-( I like the green one...

For your analytical enjoyment, I here present all 30 lap times...
