Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women.
Some women are at a greater risk of developing breast cancer than others.  Women with the following risk factors show an increased incidence of breast cancer :-

* Age - the older you are the greater the risk
* A family history of breast cancer
*Starting menstruation before age 12
* Having a child past age 30
* Never having a child
* Starting Menopause after age 50

Not all women with one or more of these risk factors will develop breast cancer and some women with none of these risk factors will develop breast cancer.
I Refuse to be Discouraged

I refuse to be discouraged,
To be sad, or to cry;
I refuse to be downhearted,
And here's the reason why...
I have a God who's mighty,
Who's sovereign and supreme;
I have a God who loves me,
And I am on His team.
He is all wise and powerful,
Jesus is His name;
Though everything is changeable,
My God remains the same.
My God knows all that's happening;
Beginning to the end,
His presence is my comfort,
He is my dearest friend.
When sickness comes to weaken me,
To bring my head down low,
I call upon my mighty God;
Into His arms I go.
When circumstances threaten
To rob me from my peace;
He draws me close unto His breast,
Where all my strivings cease.
And when my heart melts within me,
And weakness takes control;
He gathers me into His arms,
He soothes my heart and soul.
The great "I AM" is with me,
My life is in His hand,
The Lord is my hope,
It's in His strength I stand.
I refuse to be defeated,
My eyes are on my God;
He has promised to be with me,
As through this life I trod.
I'm looking past all my circumstances,
To Heaven's throne above;
My prayers have reached the heart of God, I'm resting in His love.
I give God thanks in everything,
My eyes are on His face;
The battle's His, the victory is mine;
He'll help me win the race.

All women over the age of 20 should examine their breasts once a month. The best time is the first week after your period. If you do not have regular periods, just do it the same day every month...like the first... or the tenth...or the day that matches your birthday.
(Note: just before your period or during pregnancy, your breasts may be somewhat lumpy or more tender.)
                 "The Sisterhood"

I walk into the room and see you standing there;
thinking just as I had that life isn't fair.
This invader within an uninvited guest,
has left you and I with a difficult quest.
So take my hand hold ever so tight,
we will fight this beast with all our might.
I will be there for you on good days and bad,
I will lend you my strength all that I have.
And all that I ask when your journey is done;
is for you to reach out to another one.
Another "sister" standing there,
telling herself that life isn't fair.
Extend your hand and hold hers tight,
please help to calm her fears this night.
As our sisterhood grows in numbers and in voice,
the pioneers push ever on to give us a better choice.
But until that day when a voice so pure;
announces that WE HAVE A CURE!
We need to hold each other tight,
and fight this beast with all our might.
