The Software division
On this page you are able to see and/or download programs & games made by the GTSC4 software division.
First an audio compression tool that has been devoloped:
WAX
- Audio compression
Since the compression program engine had a general flaw, the
GTSC4 official has terminated the project. The program was originally
meant to store only key values in a file letting the decoder later predict
the original wave and therefore restore it. But, as we later found out,
the program only had to store the sound texture, which repeats all over
the wave (usually) and to be able to restore it 100% it would have to store
all info about one of the 'units of texture' (that repeat all the time),
but that is exactly what ARJ does. ARJ is a non audio freeware compression
tool - perfect for the job of compressing modules and is already supported
by MODPlug, so it would be a lot smarter to use ARJ and not WAX. If You
wish to continue it or use the program (or it's parts) for your own needs,
please do. All information about it, including the source code (in QB4.5)
is available on the page.
Second something about AI used with the GTSC4
made programs and games:
The game Pixel Mania 23 usses AI that makes random moves with certian
intervals that are defined with the folowing: if the computer is killing
something, spreading fast or placing nukes the interval lasts 'forever'
and if the computer is suffering heavy losses the interval ends imediatly.
This way the computer kills you if it has a chance and even in cases when
it has less army than you. This form of AI is also compatible with some
other game designs, but this one the most. Anyway this AI is not only game
AI; it counts in the actual computer AI (defined by experts),
since it does not have too much pre-defined rules to follow.
There is also a new AI style in devolopment by the GTSC4. It is the tool-learn-and-use ans we call it. The program sends random bits to the target object and records the responses. Another part of the program later processes the recorded data using some basic logic procedures (like finding similar and puting them into groups) while the last part intstantly searches that database for actions that result in it's objectives (it can also jump up the tree and execute actions that will result in actions that will result in actions that... hopefully without getting stuck in a loop :). This particular program has not yet been made, but all the theory work is done. If anyone wishes to cooperate with this with us or is working on something similar and would apriciate some help, please contact Observer.

Third DOS based games.
PixelMania(tm):
On the below picture is PixelMania23.
This is the original PixelMania(tm) game
design.
I know this picture might not load completely, it's
not my fault -- this usually happens with big JPEG files.
About the game:
The graphical part is not very good made as you can see. You
see only one screen trough the entire game.
AI in this game is extremly smart and acts like a human player
if not better.
The game is fun to play. You can play it with up to 4 human players
and the rest are computer controled.
In the game you may have one ally (from the picture: green with
violet,...)
How to play:
Every player controls one color and all non-human players are
computer controled.
All the info needed for game play is available in the setup program
(Setup23.Exe).
To run the game under windows9x, do the following BEFORE running
setup:
Right click the setup program (Setup23.Exe) and click "Properties"
then select the "Program" tab and copy the "Cmd line:" DIRECTORY
into the "Working:" text window and finally, check the "Close on exit"
checkbox. Do the same with the game exe (PixM23.Exe), but also add a "
?" on the end of the "Cmd line:" textbox text. To select a level
name to play (closely described in the setup program (Setup23.Exe)), run
the game exe (PixM23.Exe), you should get a window named "PIXM23" with
a "Parameters" textbox. That's where you enter the level name.
You move (spread) the pixels of your color in the selected direction. Diffrent colors can overlay each other causing one color to start to 'shrink'. While you play, your color puts up houses (full sqares) and if an oponent comes into a house of yours, he/she puts up a gray pixel representing a bomb. The bomb explodes as seen on the picture (lower - right corner) wiping out all nabery pixels and leaving behind a crater.
While you play the computer reports 'news from the front' on the sidebar: first colmun means the player (his color) the next colmin is the color he/she is attacking (if empty he/she is just moving) and the last colmun says the sucsess ratio. Let me give you an example: if the first square is oponent's color the second yours and the number 150 it means that that opponent is pretty good at killing you.
Meanwhile the computer also reports important events happening in the game in a very funny way (e.g.: "# gets a blast in his face").
This is the most _serious_ game from GTSC4 so far.
