Charlotte, 17 is not your average high school student. As a senior of Schreiber High School sits down with a sense of cheerfulness. She gives off the feelings of a courteous and kind young woman. She thinks of herself as a study person, who needs to study to make the grade. Her favorite course of learning is of course, English, and her least are math and science. She is very active in her school ranging from Editor and Chief of the yearbook to trying to get a student representative team that isn’t there yet, she is a remarkable person. She has received the Wesley book award. Not only does she play the cello, but in her free time, if any she tutors and is a writer for Port News. She reacts well with people giving her thoughts of an English major or sociology.

Born on September 7, she regrets that every year four days after her birthday there will be memorial services to show compassion for those who died in the 9/11 World Trade Center crashes. Her family distraught, she lives with her mother and sister, Hannah who is a freshman at Schreiber High

School.

She says, "I love having a little sister because we can go to the same camp." According to her sister, Charlotte has "shown me the qualities that a good person, student, daughter can have." Her father lives with in New Jersey and has a girlfriend, Elizabeth. Her mother, a nurse administrator for the county hospital and her father who is currently unemployed just happened to meet do to their relating jobs of administration. Her parents divorced when she was in fifth grade but with the help of her friends, she was able to have someone to lean on and keep herself bounded.

Her family is a mixture of religions, from her father being a Quaker/Lutheran and her mother believing in Judaism she herself is neither. She finds herself as a Unitarian Universalist. Her parents have thought that she has her own right to believe in what she believes in. What she believes in is that every group needs a strong leader, and with that, she feels she is that leader. Unfortunately, others think differently, say that she needs to stop being controlling and she herself thinks that is her one bad habit.

Currently Ms. McCorkel has not really experienced senioritis, or the need to get things over with for school. She has said she enjoys the classes because she is taking that which

interests her. She goes to her fathers’ place every other weekend as well as cooks whenever she gets the chance to with her mother.

She owns two cats at her fathers’ house: Calli and Cricket and has a dog Jazz, and a cat Louie at her mothers’ place. She is a licensed driver and does not drink nor does she smoke. She enjoys Broadway very much so. Her favorite play is Rent, and her latest going to the New York City Street is the Opera, Porgy and Bess, as well as Proof. Her favorite television programs include the West Wing, and ER. She enjoys talking to people as well as her love for children and would indeed love to get married and have her own.

Her future is as wide as her imagination. With thoughts of hopefully going to a numerous amount of schools ranging from Oberlin to Hampshire to Wesleyan, she has so much she can do. She would love to be apart of a study abroad program as well as traveling to Africa, Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, and even Australia. She would love for as English major, as a job that has to do with writing in general from thoughts of a writer of journalism to that of a novelist. With sociology, she would want to interact

with people doing jobs such as counseling to Peace Corp as well as Green Peace. She wants to help people and will do anything she can to do it from working in places across the globe, or getting the message that those people need help. With her help, we can make the word great because she herself is

great and with attitudes that she gives off, with the friendships that she has made during her seventeen years of life she has a lot to live for and with that knowing that what she will do will let people know that

she is helping hand makes what she will do that more significant.

Right now though, all she wants to do is eat dinner with her family and then who knows?
