Renfrewshire Guides - 3 (?) campsites and 2 holiday houses. The campsites are all fairly flat. Access isn't very good although there is a pedestrian gap through the fence for loading & unloading from vehicles. There is a campfire circle and a climbing frame /adventure playground (see below). Apparently there is also a tree climb although I didn't see it in use. The sites are nicely separated by low bushes and hedges. A lovely quiet setting with great views (see below). There are 2 holiday houses - an old converted farmhouse and a purpose built single-storey building. Disabled access: there are a few allowances for wheelchairs but I wouldn't recommend it personally - to get to the disabled toilet in the farmhouse you need to go up & down steps or outside, for example. Single-storey purpose built house: * front door to tiny lobby ("airlock") with door to: * fairly large hall with folding tables, stacking chairs and lots of notice boards! Hatch and door to: * kitchen - big enough for a QM and about 4 brownies to be doing things, although there isn't much storage for food etc and the doors tend to catch each other.Well equipped. * hall also has door to corridor with * toilets - 3 sinks, 3 toilets (1 disabled), 2 (3?) showers, hooks for towels etc. * bedrooms with bunks - 4 x 6 person, 1x4 person, 1x2 person. The bunks are full length but a bit wobbly and rather low - an adult can't sit up at more than 45 degrees in the bottom ones! Wardrobe in 4 person room, table in 2 person, no storage in others, except under beds. * end of corridor is cloakroom with payphone and fire exit. Farmhouse Downstairs: toilets, kitchen (all refurbished, kitchen lovely but very small), pantry/utility room, 2 living rooms (dining & lounge). Stairs to upper floor - 1x 4 person bedroom with space for a camp bed (just), 1 "family" bathroom - no cubicles - toilet, sink, shower, 2 dormitories (1x10 and 1x8 or 12, I can't remember which!). Barn - extra building with fairly large upstairs room, available for activities. |
My photos - the holiday house ones are all of the purpose-built house. |
