| CONGRATULATIONS BINKER & NUTMEG! This lovely couple are soon to be expecting some babies! Here is a diary of the "courtship" between those two love birds and the progress of Nutmeg's pregnancy. 8th May Nutmeg and Binker are introduced for the first time. There is alot of purring going on, and Binker gets very excited. It's the first time he's explored a female, so he obviously gets a few things wrong. After they have 'talked' for a while, we put them together in the hutch. 15th May Let the mating begin!!! After a few tries Binker knows what he's doing :) (Hey, this is his first time!) 22nd May - Week 1 Who knows if Nutmeg is pregnant yet? We'll soon find out. 29th May - Week 2 Hehe, still don't know! Nutmeg has lost a little weight (not good) but I soon find out this is because she broke a tooth. Somehow. June 5th - Week 3 I think she is pregnant! She is eating fine now, and hopefully she is definately pregnant. I read somewhere that by 3 weeks you should be able to uhh feel the babies as little water sacks, but I don't want to hurt them or anything. Her tummy does look a little... "pregnant"... June 12th - Week 4 Well a month has past now, and boy is she gettin' big! Her tummy is very big, and she is feeling nice and "heavy" Ooooo I wonder how many babies are in that fluffy belly of hers! Why are guinea pig prengancies soooo long? :( June 19th - Week 5 I can't say how many shes going to have right now but I think it's something like 3 or 4...you never know there may be more! (Or less) Poppet looks pregnant - she's so fat! But she's not, I know that. I put her in another cage while Nutmeg and Binker got on with their 'courtship'. June 26th - Week 6 Not much to say really, just that you can really start to feel them now... July 3rd - Week 7 OOoOooOoOo!!! Those babies are feeling big!! From now on they will get bigger everyday :D July 10th Ok. Maybe i was mistaken about this whole pregnancy. You do not know how dumb I feel! It seems like Nutmeg is not getting any bigger! She may not be pregnant at all.....or.....she only has one wee baby inside her. It may be so because I can feel just one hard lump, the rest just seems like her podge (fat).
