"CD of the month - To Terrapin"
Howdy!I'm Jim Moulton and I've been a country singer-songwriter for about 25 years.
My music has been influenced by Vince Gill, Linda Ronstadt, Alison Krauss, and Alan Jackson just to name a few.
I am a born again Christian and I believe that is the most important thing that a person needs in their life is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We need to be ready for eternity and we sure need the Lord in this life, especially during these difficult days.I John says it best" He that hath the son hath life and he that does not have the son hath not life."
Since I have retired from performing because of nerve damage to my left hand,I have started doing country CD reviews. Thanks to Suzanne Smith, all of my reviews are available on my reviews page.I try to do reviews with an honest, but creative approach. Some country Artists that I have reviewed include George Strait, Lolene, The Mickeys, Rhonda Vincent and Nashville's Patty Loveless and Vince Gill. Please take a minute and sign my guestbook below. If you would like to be put on my e-mail list, just e-mail me with your e-mail address. I am now publishing all of my reviews on CountryStarsOnline. I am not reviewing as much as I am dedicating more of my time to the Lord's Work.
So, I have been thinking, what is hot with music this year?, not really a whole lot of new stuff, but tons of rereleases. The Grateful Dead got in a Touring mood and hit the road for a tour this spring and early summer, it was very well attended with Warren Haynes filling Jerry's shoes and Jeff Chiementi on keyboards. They released a full concert called "To Terrapin" from a spring tour in 77, one of the best Dick's Picks, though not called that, it is a 2 track remaster that has awesome sound. The third Disc is my Favorite, For some reason, I stuck it in first to play. It started out with an incredible version of "Estimated Prophet", Jerry was awesome with the wah sound on his lead from the envelope filter, that He loves to use. By the way this is the last gig of their Spring tour in Hartford ,Conn. and it plain out rocks all of the way through, starting with a 20 minute version of "Sugaree" as their third song.I already had Dick's Pick #15 "Englishtown", the big one, that I went to and DP #10, one of the best from the end of 77 @ Winterland. I hope they release one Disc from this years tour. I listened to 1 show on Sirius radio and the quality was good. They offer downloadfs, but I don't have a way to download, would rather have a well mastered CD anyway, with the artwork , you know.
