I've been a fan of Ted Nugent and his music since I was about 11 years old (I might have been younger), when I got my hands on a cassette of "Great Gonzos: The Best Of Ted Nugent"... I've been a fan ever since.  In the Spring of 1993, my friend Craig and I blew off work at Food Town and drove to Jackson, Michigan to meet Ted Nugent at his hunting store, Ted Nugent's Bowhunters World.  We waited in line for about an hour and got some autographs and our pictures taken with him.  He was unbelievably cool to talk to and we ended up getting back in line to get a few other items signed and to talk with him a little more.  In 1993, we got tickets to Ted's 8th Annual New Year's Eve Whiplash Bash at Cobo Arena in Detroit.  We left really early and decided to walk around Cobo.  We just wandered around until we accidentally found our way down to the floor.  We walked right past security guards onto the floor and right up to the stage, front and center, where the band (which included singer/guitarist Derek St. Holmes - the best singer Nugent's ever had) were getting ready for soundcheck.  The band ran through a couple of songs and, a few minutes later, Ted came walking onto the stage and they ran through the same songs again.  Ted told us "If you guys are gonna stay there all night, you better be ready, 'cause I'm gonna make your ears bleed!"  The security and staff at Cobo thought that we had permission to be at the soundcheck, so they let us stay there while they opened up the doors to the public.  We held our front row spots all night.  I walked out of that show in awe and since then, have tried to see Ted Nugent in concert as often as possible. I've also been lucky enough to meet Ted a couple more times and he even sent me a card when I graduated from high school.  For my pictures and autographs, check out the links at the bottom of this page.
