The kit was incredibly easy to build and looks excellent with little effort, but of course I chose to go overboard...

Building it
The kit is actually a year and a half old and was a straightbuild out of the box with the exception of the desert scheme.  I decided to use is as a testbed to learn how to realistically weather models, I'm mostly pleased with it.  Aside from paint touch-ups and covering the obvious seam lines on the shoulders and the upper chest area, the only thing I added was bullet holes and styrene plates to the sides of the shoulders.  I've seen the plates done elsewhere and though it looked cool and I also wanted to cover the connection point of the two shoulder halves.  I created the bullet holes by heating a paperclip to melt circular holes or dragging it to create gashes. This was also my first serious experiment with resin and clear coats.  The balls on the back of the resin hands, were to small, so I made them bigger by adding some cement glue around them.  I clearcoated this thing a total of 5 times to protect the paint and build up an acceptable layer of weathering that would permanently stay on.  In the end I added a final layer of chalk pastels and just promised to never touch it because the clearcoats significantly diminished the weathering no matter how I applied it.
