Two views of Blue Waterholes Gorge
Located near the Cooleman Plain area, day walk options include Blue
Waterholes/Cave Creek Gorge, huts such as "Coonabil" or "Old Currango" or (with
some vehicle assistance) an exploration of the nearby Yarrongobilly Caves.
Overnight pack-carriers can choose between a "hut-bagging" circuit towards
Tantangara Reservoir or, best of all cross the border into the A.C.T and spend a
few days exploring Namadgi NP, where the unquestionable highlight would be the
views from Bimberi Peak (1902m), over the Brindabella Ranges towards Canberra.
There's a pretty campsite with basic facilities at Blue Waterholes. The walk through the gorge requires you to be surefooted when traversing sometimes wet rockfaces.
