GURLEY             VOL.     FIRE/RESCUE

The Gurley Vol. Fire/Rescue is a group of volunteers that have been through exstensive training to protect the Town of Gurley and some of the other surrounding communties. All of the Gulrey volunteers have been through the lowest training of Firefighter 1 to be volunteer professionals. This means that all Gurley volunteers have taken a course to certify them to be a professional volunteer.The Gurley Fire/Rescue holds its regular business meeting on the first Monday of the month. We are located in Gurley which is 15 miles east of Huntsville on US Highway 72 East. Gurley Station #1 is located at 235 Walker Street which houses Attack 353 and support 153. Gurley Station #2 is located at 210 Railroad Street which houses Eng. 253. Gurley Station #3 which houses Medic 253, Eng.153, and Eng.453.The Gurley Fire/Rescue/Ems carries the latest rescue equipment by AMKUS Rescue Systems Inc. we have a cutter/spreader and two differant sizes of spreaders. We have but a bid out for a Big Cutter & Big Spreader which will help us cut bigger vechiles like 18 wheelers and dump trucks of that sort. Eng. 453 is a 2000 KME/International which has a 1500 gallon tank. The Gurley Fire/Rescue holds its training meeting on the third Monday of the month and the following Saturday.
