MARCH 2002 EVENT |
Everyone returned to camp and G-MAN left for home. After tea, the next game was announced. A NIGHT NAV - The patrol team had to navigate along a course, collecting GLOW STICKS, in the following order. GREEN, RED, GREEN, RED, GREEN, BLUE. They had 6 players. If any were HIT they could re-enter the game if a friendly player touched them. All 4 TMF players and APOC, LONEPIG, working in 3 pairs. While the AMBUSH team had 4 men; WRAITH, lee, Napoleon, and Leroy. They worked in pairs too. (LEE with WRAITH and NAPOLEON working with Leroy) If hit, they had to return to a uncaptured GLOWSTICK to re-enter the game. This was a SAC night game so FULL AUTO was not allowed, although shots to the head did now count. GAME ON........ Leroy and NAPOLEON set up @ Bear's bunker. They had been briefed to slow down the PATROL, before setting off a PYRO and heading over to the next GREEN glowstick. Meanwhile, APOC was the most experianced Night gamer on the Patrol, so took charge. He explained how PARANOIA would eat up the patrol, espescially if they stopped. He offered to take point and explained how he would call each FIRETEAM in with verbal commands for PAIR 1, 2 or 3. Lee and Wraith set up covering the ground around the first RED GLOWSTICK. The PATROL moved in and made contact with Leroy and NAPOLEON. Leroy's TRACERS indicated both his targets and his own position. After a short exchange of fire, Leroy lit the ground effect PYRO and bugged out with NAPOLEON, before the fuse ran out and the area became illumianted. |
Lee lay low, spotting Leroy's uncammed face. Deciding he would wait, Lee kept still. After a couple of minutes, Lee heard a noise to his left, in the trench. Leaning round, he saw Leroy traversing an obstacle 10m away. Firing a burst, Leroy called "HIT!" Lee moved off to patrol the field. Seeing a player in the long grass, firing at the Bunker, Lee ran forward and Hit his target. It turned out to be DODGER (friendly fire). Eventually deciding the flank was clear, he moved below the bunker and set up watching a bottleneck 20m away. Watching NAPOLEON edge forward along the ridge, he heard G-MAN open up on Napoleon. Distracted, Lee didn't notice LONEPIG walking into his ambush. By the time he had got his gun ready, LonePig had made cover. A fire fight followed, with LonePig eventually trying to bypass Lee. Lee quickly pressed forward up the ridge and Tagged LonePig. Moving into the West trench, Lee saw G-MAN creeping downhill and acquired him in his telescopic sight. His finger tightened on the trigger. "GAME OVER!" declared the MARSHAL, "G-MAN WINS" GAMEOVER. |
Deciding to develop the sight, everyone set off to construct a cunning new bunker. WRAITH sited it, between Bear's Bunker and the TRENCH area. There was already a ditch so TMF dug it out, making a pit. Everyone else collected dead wood and fallen trees. Building up the walls, mud was added to fill the gaps. Finally, rocks were collected to pave the muddy floor. The bunker was finished. |

Moving at a steady pace, Leroy and Napoleon reached Glowstick GREEN 2. Meanwhile, the PATROL sent PAIR 1 in front of the objective, while PAIR 2 circled round behind. then PAIR 3 moved in and snatched the GLOWSTICK (Green 1). Deciding not to go in a straight line to RED1, the Patrol headed uphill to cross the open field. After 10 minutes, Lee and Wraith, put down some suppressive fire, as they pulled back to GREEN 2. |
