24 Hours @ SAC |

Turnout was good enough to play 24 Hour Style. 2 Sides were chosen (by the 2 Marshals.) ALPHA Group and CHARLIE GROUP. As follows: ALPHA GROUP = TMA + BUSHPIGS CHARLIE GROUP = TMF + Team SUICIDE + KOBRA KAI Giving ALPHA 5 players and HANDICAP 3 at the beginning of the day, MANTIS was the acting CO. CHARLIE had 7 players and handicap equalled 10, with STINGER as the CO. CHARLIE tossed for starting position and got the Steep western side of the land. Both Teams geared up at either end of the SAFE ZONE. Knowing as soon as the whistle sounded that they would be "in the game" carrying all of their kit! TASK 1: INSERTION. Both teams had to move to any area inside the gaming area and set up their flag. Also a defensive TAG ZONE needed to be placed at least 70m from the flag's position. 4 figure Grid references were required for both the flag and the tagzone. Completion worth 1 point. |
The game started with a BANG from a pyro and both teams moved into the gaming area only 70m apart. They were both worried about the other team dumping their bergens and attacking. ALPHA moved off along the river (Napoleon's suggestion) leaving LonePig and APOC to dump their kit and cover the rear. MANTIS told the team that he fancied a camp in the GORSE BUSHES area and to rendezvous there. CHARLIE set off towards the Plateau, after Chopper suggested it as a base. They eventually set off, with STRIKER, PAXO and RAZER escorting with guns ready; The rest simply lugged their kit up the mammoth hill. Dodger was point, Chopper second, Stinger, Striker, Paxo, then Razer and Axeman last. Reaching the plateau first, they dropped their kit and got fully tooled up with AEG's. Spreading out, some took up sentry positions, taking it in turn while the others unpacked. |

Meanwhile ALPHA had regrouped with their sniper team withdrawing to camp. Setting up their flag near the rear of the gorse, they positioned their tagzone below Sniper Point. Rigging up a bivie, Napoleon and Tank got set up for defense duties. The others did not set up a bivie yet and simply stashed their kit. Both teams radioed in once completing the INSERTION TASK. Scoring 1 point, they requested another TASK. Offered a choice between FIELDCRAFT and RECCE, both teams accepted RECCE. They had to give a 4 figure grid reference of the opponent's flag. If accurate to within 50m, they would score 3 points. |
Both teams organised a RECCE team. For ALPHA it was LONEPIG and APOC (seasoned BUSHPIG teammates). While CHARLIE chose PAXO, RAZER and AXEMAN for the job. Loading up they all headed out from camp. Charlie Recce moved along the top of the land, looking downhill from their vantage point. AXEMAN had his scoped SD6 and took up a spotter role from the rear. Reaching the boundary, they moved downhill skirting past SNIPER POINT. Keeping low, they moved down the treeline towards the Gorse. Paxo was point and crawled along the edge of the field, spotting the ALPHA flag. Moving off, he suddenly realised MANTIS was only 5m away. Both players opened up, taking head shots, before MANTIS fired over the top of a bush, hitting PAXO in the foot. Napoleon opened up on RAZER but took a hit, before the CHARLIE team withdrew. Returning to base along the low ground cautiously. |
