Moving downhill, using the dead ground, I found a clearing in the lower gorse and planted the flag, dumping all my kit at the same time. I told the guys with me, to dump their kit too. I pressed on in cover and set up on watch in sneakin’ corner. Radioing Team Green to get down to my position as soon as they were operational. I deployed F.R. in close ambush positions, while Nitrox set up 40m away guarding the flank. I pulled back to the flag and found that MANTIS had stashed much of the kit well, under a gorse bush. Team Blue were now ready and with me, so I explained the day/night boundary and where to watch. I then set them up in positions covering the field to the west, between both of our sentry positions. To check the camp was secure, I moved back to RED teams OP and immediately saw that the Day/Night boundary was not covered at all. I pulled NETE back a couple of meters into a lower position, as he was skylined and could possibly have been seen from 200m away, even though he was prone.

O.D. had indeed seen Nete on the skyline and he radioed our position as being the Upper Gorse.
Returning to the flag, I explained my defensive plan to Blue team and that it was important to get our DEFENSIVE TAG ZONE set up (at least 75m away from the flag). However, I did not want it inside the gorse, rather opting to place it over 100m away above the gorse area, next to the stream. Blue team would be deploying it, with Satan carrying the box (as he had the shortest gun), while I would cover the rear and determine the exact location. Moving uphill, we past RED TEAM after a thumbs up and moved forward to the edge of the gorse, with Capt. on point, followed by Sab. I signaled for them to move right into the woodland and waited for Capt. to move forward and give the all clear. When all was secure, Capt. covered the high ground while SAB watched the opposite ridge across the valley. I moved up past Satan and cleared the area for the zone, signaling Satan to move in and deploy the box as arranged earlier. Once he had done the job, we pulled out in reverse order, with Capt. and Sab, now covering the rear. Reaching Red team, I briefed Nilz and gave him the location of the tag zone. Then I assumed position back at the flag. I discussed the DAY/NIGHT boundary not being covered with Mantis and he volunteered to move up there and watch that firearc. I agreed and he departed.

I then informed Blue team, that I intended to rig a booby trap in Sneakin’ Corner and that they would cover the area in front of the ambush, giving me security. Radioing down to Stinger, I told him that we were moving to his position. Capt. opted to take only his pistol, as his A2 with shotty, was too cumbersome. On arrival at the ambush position, 100m away, I ran over the plan with Stinger and updated him on the tag zone position. Before moving into the main firearc of the ambush. Blue team gave me security, while I demonstrated the basic idea of the traps to Capt. We both agreed that the trap was not too hard to spot, but I decided local cam would not work too well on the path. So after CAPT. slightly repositioned the trap, we pulled back and he assumed Soap’s sentry position; a pointblank range ambush on anyone who was distracted by the booby trap. SAB took over Stinger’s position and I briefed him to occasionally check his left flank. Moving off to collect Nitrox, I regrouped with Team Green in Sneakin’ corner. Upon hearing Mantis on the radio, “Contact by the Boundary!”  I decided to respond quickly, so gathered Satan and set off with GREEN team back to the flag. Soap was with me and I explained, “Whoever gets here last, is going to get the crap job of Flag guard.” Satan was last man to me, so I put him in position behind a tiny bush, facing uphill, only 30m from NETE.
O.D. followed us and reported our rough location.
A firefight was still happening 50m uphill. Moving past RED TEAM, I moved into the gorse and got Soap, Nitrox and Stinger into cover. Someone shouted HIT in the gorse above me....... I suspected it was Mantis and knew that the boundary was open, I hoped RED TEAM would have heard it and reacted to cover the threat. In hindsight, I should have radioed them and told them to look uphill.

Signaling Green team to stay down, I moved forward through the gorse expecting to get shot at. Indeed this did happen, but I was more suprised that it came from my right flank. I dived down into cover, before the pellets arrived and signalled Nitrox the direction of the opponent. I saw him bug out uphill and thought it was possibly HUDSON. Hearing more firing from the TAG ZONE, I realised the entire opposition was probably in the vicinity. Looking further right, I spotted O.D. flanking towards the field. I decided to pull back to GREEN TEAMS position and as I did so, NETE and NILZ were tagged out by firing only 10m away through the bushes. Moving to the rear of Nitrox and Soap, who covered the front and right, I joined Stinger and signalled towards the Day/Night boundary. Seeing an opponent silhouetted against the skyline through the bushes, we held our fire and let him stalk to Nilz’s sentry position, 10m away. Another figure followed him down, but was only 5m behind. Seeing the 1 clear shot through the bush, I fired a burst, tagging the second man (RAZOR) instantly. Switching fire quickly to the pointman; he went prone and I moved forward hitting him in an instant (REFLEX). Getting down, there was a brief pause, before I popped round the DAY/NIGHT Boundary and spotted CHOPPER huddled in a bush. Opening fire, he reacted, but was peppered by both me and Stinger in a second. Indeed, Stinger was only a few meters from his position and  shot him through a bush.
