BASHA BUILDING
FRONTPAGE...
There are different basic types of BASHA design:

A-FRAME
This is a great design, specifically for only 1 man, as the highly angled sides, mean the overall area covered is often less than a FLAT SHEET. The A-FRAME requires only 2 points to secure it (ie. trees) and is secured via the centre, of each width, of the BASHA, as well as the central loop to an overhanging tree. The idea being to form a ridge. If there is nowhere overhanging for this, then form the ridge, by tieing a rope from tree to tree and placing the BASHA over it. The corners and centre of each length are then secured with pegs and guy ropes. The A-FRAME is best positioned at ground level, in windy or cold conditions, but can be raised off the ground in summer.

LEAN TO
This is a really simple design and quick to put up. 2 corners are secured 3'-4' off the ground while the opposite edge is secured to the ground directly with pegs. To keep the LEAN TO from pooling, the central loop must be secured to an overhanging tree. The design is best used when camping next to a fenceline or to shield it's occupant from a very strong wind from the exposed direction.

FLAT SHEET
This layout is good for staying covert, as it can be the closest to the ground. Indeed, it can be secured only 1'-2' from the deck. It is not advisable in bad conditions, as it doesn't offer very good drainage. Although it still provides an acceptable level of protection from the elements. The 4 corners are secured close to the ground, often all at the same height. With the central loop being secured, only slightly higher (2'-3'). To get inside, you should have to crawl. In contrast, the entire BASHA can be set-up much higher in the trees, forming a canopy, which is great for social camping in summer.
