Along came a Spyder II
Column by Spyder Darling for
New York Waste Magazine
Though their homeland of Switzerland is thousands of miles from New York City, the GUTTER QUEENS new CD *HOT IN HOLLYWOOD* has a taste as delicious sleazy and cheesy as a slice of St. Mark's Pizza wolfed down at 3 am after a Waldos show at the Continental.
For those not in the international Glam Rock underground know, GUTTER QUEENS are a cross dressed quintet of Swiss Misses and Misters who specialize in New York Dolls, Stooges and Bowie inspired Rock that's as gutsy as it is glittery. Lascivicious listeners can have more fun in 12 minutes with GUTTER QUEENS trashtastic originals like "Hot in Hollywoos" or "Teenage Wasteland" than a whole day spent waiting for K-Rock to play anything remotely as rocking.
And to prove they're no juvenile delinquents when it comes doing their Rock'n'Roll homework, GUTTER QUEENS finish off *HOT IN HOLLYWOOD* with a lipstick smacking good version of David Bowie's "Suffragette City".
