DEAF, DUMB AND BLIND
Deaf, dumb and blind,
I wish I were;
then I wouldn't have a care in the world.
For I couldn't hear the scream of jets,
or see the destruction of war,
and I would be to dumb to care.
Deaf, dumb and blind,
someday we may all be;
then we wouldn't have a care in the world.
For we couldn't hear the cries of hunger,
or see the pain on their faces,
and we would be to dumb to eat our food.
Deaf, dumb and blind,
that’s what they are;
for they must not have a care in the world.
For they can't hear the call of freedom,
or see the walls that hold them in,
and they were dumb enough to build them.
