EMPTINESS
She came into my life and filled a void,
that I hadn't known existed.
She filled the space of someone to be loved,
whether it be the dog that died in its time,
or the family I left behind.
She came into my life,
and made it richer.
For we became one,
a perfect picture.
We were everything to each other.
We did everything together.
Holdings hands at the movies,
making love under the sun.
Then somehow things went bad.
I could tell that she was sad,
but she wouldn't tell me what was wrong,
and the next thing I knew she was gone.
I probably will never know why she left,
maybe another man came in the way,
or maybe she woke one day,
and started listening,
to what her friends would always say.
Mary, they would say,
he is no good for you.
You should wait another day,
something better will come your way.
She came into my life and filled a void,
that I hadn't known existed,
and now she is gone,
leaving behind emptiness.
