DAYMARE
(A CLASSROOM DRAMA)
Sitting in silence,
drifting on waves;
the creature came,
and chased you away.
Swimming in the pool,
stroking on wind;
the fin is there,
coming my way.
Paddling in desperation,
sticking in mud;
the teeth crunching,
reaching my way.
Thrashing in fear,
screaming in pain;
the mouth chews,
eating my leg.
Sitting in stares,
wallowing in embarrassment;
the question repeated,
directed at me.
