![]() This is an map of the temple grounds of Kennin-ji. |
![]() Here is a shot of a gate looking out over the main building. |
![]() This is the interior of the main hall. The ceiling has a rather neat picture of two dragons, but the pictures didn't come out very well so I won't bother putting them up. But it was signed by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (the painting of the dragons that is). |
![]() This is part of the rock garden that is in the interior of the temple. While not as famous as Ryoanji, I think that this one was a tad nicer. Maybe it was the lack of people there that made it so pleasant. |
![]() I could be wrong, but I think that this is a screen of the god of Thunder and the god of Lightening. I'll double check in the future to make sure it's what I think it is. Either way it's a rather spectacular screen. |
![]() Who would have thought that inside the temple grounds there'd be a small little Shinto Shrine. I thought it was neat because it stuck out among the rest of the temple. |
![]() Here we see a shot of the main gate with the main building almost visible in the background. I wish I could have gotten a better shot, but I didn't. |
![]() Here is Yasaka Shrine (or so I think). In the day time everything was tacky and there were a bunch of vendors inside hawking their goods. Not a very scenic place to visit in the daytime. |
![]() This shot of Yasaka Shrine at night doesn't really do it justice, but it's definitely a nice place to visit at night. |
![]() Inside the shrine there are red lanterns everywhere and it makes for a rather picturesque sight. Now if only my camera had cooperated, I could have gotten a decent picture of these lanters and such. |
