![]() This is the main building of Nijou Castle, perhaps one of the coolest places I've been to in Japan. As you can see, it's a major stop on the J.H.S. students Kyoto trip. The castle was swarming with students, and it was like I never left Shiraoka. |
![]() Here is one of the interior buildings, I don't remember what it is, but it's located in the inner-most part of the castle. |
![]() Here's another interior building that housed guests and such (I think. I don't have the paper that explains everything in front of me right now. |
![]() This is the garden inside the castle. It was very nice and the picture doesn't do it justice. |
![]() Here we have the biggest torii (Shinto gate) in Japan (or so I've been told). It's made of metal and painted bright orange. Pretty tacky actually. |
![]() The is the main gate to the Heian Jingu, and the buildings inside aren't anything special. |
![]() As you can see it's just more of the same bright orange paint. This is supposed to be a remake of the Imperial Palace just scaled down. The best part about the Heian Jingu was the garden, but my camera ran out of juice so I don't have any pictures of that readily available. |
