Springtime - The Madonie Mountains
In the town of Resuttano I looked for Via Castrianni, the place of birth on my grandmother's, Maria Cagnina, birth certificate.  No one  we asked recognized the street name.
On the third day I went to the office of the "Archivo de Stato", where I originally found my  genealogical information. Yes, there was  such a street, I was informed by the kind, gentle, man whom I remembered from my previous visit in 2000.  The name  of the street had been changed many years ago. It is now via Cairoli.
This is how I depicted it as it might have looked in the late
1800's.
In April, the landscape of the Madonie Mountains, where Resuttano is found, was bright green with fields of yellow flowers.
We again visited my grandfather's Inzinna family in Resuttano.

This painting shows the rear view of the houses on Via Roma as it looked before it had been restored.

The little piazza, in the center of the painting, is where locals still meet daily every afternoon. The piazza and small balconies all have  views of the valleys  below and distant hill towns.
