OOC Rules 1. Blah, blah, blah, you must have a bonder, these are not click-and-take dragons. Blah, blah blahblah, Alskyran or otherwise, yadda yadda, Alskyran preferred. Dragon color variations, blah blah blah-blah-blah, rares to spiffy, well-thought-out bonders. 2. Blahblah, expected content: blah blah blah, link to Agendor Cove or Gwynllaith Isle on your character’s page, www.oocities.org/agendorcove.html preferred, blah blah, no porn, blah blah, PG-13 rating or less. Blah-blah-blah-blah, goes for cursing/swearing as well, yadda yadda yadda. 3. I don’t really care if you send in a whole bunch of guys or a whole bunch of girls. For small clutches (they will get larger if spaces fill up quickly), please do not fill more than half of the spaces available with your own candidates. If the clutch exceeds 8 spaces available, please do not fill more than 1/3 to 1/4 of the spaces. 3a. If there is no clutch on the beach, or all the spaces are filled, you are allowed to send in your candidates BUT you should be aware that the likelihood of the Covelady losing them is high. We do not accept reserves without a very good reason. 4. If you want to bond ‘from the Stands’, or the Cove equivalent, please let me know. It is possible—but your reason for Bonding thusly must be very good. If you are a possibility to Bond from the Stands, your character will not be put down as a bonder, but he/she will be mentioned in the hatching story. 5. I have absolutely no problem with leaving prebonders standing. In fact, if the page is skeletonized, glaring color, or has atrocious grammar/spelling errors, I probably will leave them standing. If your bonder is left on my sands, you may e-mail me and ask why. I will try to be kind and honest. Your bonder will be automatically included in the next clutch, unless you tell me otherwise, and may stand as many times as you like. If you fix the page as instructed, you are just about guaranteed to Bond next time around. 6. Agendor’s seadragons have a peculiarity unique to this Cove, at the moment—there are only three colors of calf, while there are nine colors of adult. The calf colors are merle, auburn, and brindle. Merle youngsters can turn out to be blue, aqua, or silver, auburn calves will be yellow or red, and brindle dragonets may produce indigo, green, violet, or black. The main purpose of this (other than seeing similar color-changes in Terran creatures, and chalking it up to good sense, or possibly reluctance to draw six more hatchlings) is to encourage new Bonders to write up stories that continue their excellent work. I’ve seen far too many spectacular candidates bond high, and then write absolutely pathetic little bits of fluff after they get their dragon. So—you want a high-ranker? Better work after you get that calf… Auburns, obviously, have both options rare, so the writer’s choice is mostly what determines the dragon’s eventual permanent coloration. If you want a specific color, you must e-mail me, after you have received your calf and written its story, and tell me what you want. 7. Seadragons at Gwynllaith bond whoever they wish, and name themselves. You, however, can tell me if you don’t want a dragon of the opposite sex or of a specific color. You can tell me what color (hatchling or adult) you’d prefer—but I’m not making any guarantees. 7a. You are allowed to suggest names, or simply tell me what kind of ending you prefer. Seadragons at Agendor Cove usually have names that end in vowel-r (Caswir, Celwyddaur, Kelar, Dharishar, etc.), but I know –ss and -z are common elsewhere. 8. I will set dates by which your stages should be up, and post them on the list. If you e-mail me to say you can’t make it, I will be appeased. If you set a date, in that same e-mail, when the critter will be up, I will be pleased. Seadragon stages not updated 1 week past the due date with no explanatory e-mail will be considered abandoned, and only the best reason for not being there will ever get them back again. If they’ve already been adopted, tough luck. 9. You must join the Topica list to get updates! View it at www.topica.com/lists/gwynllaith , or send an e-mail to gwynllaith-subscribe@topica.com to subscribe. 10. You may e-mail questions to Covelady Cyfrin at efellai@yahoo.com , or use the list. |
