Alexia let the warm water slip over her body as she washed her hair.

Alexia thoughts: “How could he?!?! He claimed to love me. Maybe because I wouldn’t do certain things with him? Maybe I’m not pretty enough?”

~*~*~*~*~*~

In the other room Maria was folding her clothes when Alexia’s thoughts entered her head.

Maria thoughts: “How could she not think she’s not pretty? She’s prettier than me! Full of yourself much, Maria?!?!”

After twenty minutes of Maria folding her clothes and putting them away she changed into low cut, dark blue jeans and an orange halter-top. She put on make-up and waved her hands over her hair and it because crimped with glitter.

After that, Maria waited ten minutes till Alexia came out in black leather hip rider pants, a blood red backless cut off halter top and black leather boots. She had on black eye liner and lip-gloss and blood red eye shadow. Her hair was up in a ponytail and instead of pink streaks she now had deep blood red.

Alexia: I’m feeling dangerous and its only 3 in the afternoon.

Maria: Ready?

Alexia: I’ve been waiting for this moment for my whole life.

Maria gasped. She had said the same thing before Max took her hand and led her to Enigma.

Maria: What?

Alexia: To party with you! My girl!

Maria: Oh. Right! Well, lets go then.

~*~*~*~*~*~

They got off of Alexia’s motorcycle and she kicked the small metal bar so it stood up.

Maria was so excited!

Alexia: Uh-uh! There is no way you are drinking tonight, missy!! No way! Your mother would rise from the grave, grab a newspaper and beat me to death with it!

Maria: No she wouldn’t! It would most likely be a frying pan.

Alexia: My point anyways. No drinking. I rarely drink anymore.

Maria: Fine! Spoilsport.

They walked down the stairs and a lot of eyes turned to them.

Maria: What are all these people doing here?

Alexia: Karaoke night. People want to sign up early. Why don’t you sign up and sing one of your songs?

Maria: No way! Which one would I sing?

Alexia: Siren.

Maria: No. I wont. You cant… hello. What’s wrong?

Alexia snapped out of her staring.

Alexia: What I do?!

Maria: I was, I guess, arguing to myself about not singing. What are you staring at?

She twisted around in her seat to see a cute guy and two girls walking towards them.

He had beautiful blue-green eyes and sandy blonde hair. One girl had mocha colored skin and brown eyes and curly deep blonde hair. The other had straight brunette hair and brown eyes and lips like Maria’s.

Alexia: Two cokes and Rob, you slip us anything, I’ll kick you ass.

Rob: Ok. OK. You don’t have to be so hostile.

She let go of his wrist and went back to eating a stale pretzel.

She dropped it half eaten on the counter and flicked it at the bartenders back.

She grabbed another and with her manicured nails she broke the center out so it only left the outside in the shape of a heart. The three people got there just in time to hear Alexia tell Maria…

Alexia: See this, Ria? This is my heart right now.

She put it in her hand and squeezed till her nails drew blood. She released the broken bloodied pretzel and then repeatedly brought her coiled fist down on the remaining pieces. The only thing left after was a salty powder.

Alexia: Sorry Ria. Said we’d have fun, but I’m suddenly not in the mood.

She stood up and went to pass the brunette when she grabbed Alexia’s arm, hard.

Alexia: Max, if you don’t want a matching bruise on the other cheek, you’ll let me go.

Max pulled her hand away.

Max: Alexia, can I talk to you?

Alexia: Sorry, babe! I’m busy. Rob! How about you poor a little extra something into my coke!

She watched extra sure it was her drink and not Maria’s. He placed in front of her and she drank half of it before coming up for air.

Max: Are you going to introduce us to your friend, Alexia?

Alexia: Maria, that’s Max, Original Cindy and Alec. Guys, that’s Maria De Luca. You know. The one from Roswell.

Max: Oh. Nice to meet you.

Maria: Like-wise… I think.

Maria had felt Alexia’s discomfort around Alec. She leaned over and asked if this was the guy who’s ass she was going to kick. Her friend nodded and Maria fumed. She could tell Alexia loved him. She kept mumbling stuff when they were moving her in to Alexia’s apartment. Stuff like – “I loved him. Jackass. All men are the same!” and “I’m just glad nothing escaladed to the highest point!” Maria wasn’t going to stand by and watch her friend hurt over a guy like she did with Michael.

At the thought of Michael and her friends her eyes welled with tears. She blinked them back and kept a straight face. She looked Max, Alec and Cindy in their eyes and coolly said…

Maria: I think you should leave.

Alec: Public place.

Maria: Then leave us alone.

Cindy stepped into Maria’s face. They were the same height so they were nose-to-nose.

Cindy: Look, suga, I don’t know who the hell ya think ya are comin in here and tell us ta leave ya alone. My boy, Alec here needs to talk to Alexia.

Maria shot back at with venom.

Maria: Whatever. You can’t come in here and get in my face and basically tell me to shut the hell up. I have had the worst week you’ll ever imagine and I don’t want my only friend left to go through the pure hell I’ve gone through of a guy before…

Alec: Max, Cindy. Let’s go.

Cindy and Maria never broke their stare.

Max: What?

Alec grabbed her arm and started to pull. So Max grabbed Cindy’s arm and Maria and Cindy only broke their stare when Cindy was out the door.

Max: What are you doing Alec? You want Alexia back don’t you?!?

Alec: More than anything but… Maria. That chick’s hands were crackling with green static.

Max: What?!?! You’ve got to be kidding!! That’s impossible.

Alec: Not really, Max. Not really.
