next practice.
hello.. guzheng practice starts 24 may. try to keep that day free okay? decided to postpone it to next week because a few people are not free this sat.
sorry about that, i took very long to write the guzheng score. sighs.. but its done. you can download the mp3 from the gmail account. still remember the username and password? if u forget u can sms me. haha

some updates.
hope you guys had a good rest. guzheng practice resume this saturday (which is tomorrow 22/3). sorry for the late update. i was still thinking of what songs to practise and i haven't finish the score >_<
by the way, the teacher-in-charge of guzheng called me yesterday. ok things goes like this. the juniors are performing in some guzheng festival held by National JC in late May. however their instructor will not be around for 3 weeks in April, so they hope that we will help out during this period. they're doing yi zu wu qu.
currently their practice is on Thursday. but they can adjust their practice days accordingly if we can't make it on thursday. it will be nice if we can help out. but i guess it's quite difficult for us to come out with a day in the weekday where all of us dismiss early. so i may ask them to come on some saturday :P

Annoucements
hello just a little update.
right now we're preparing for the upcoming performance on 16th Feb. So Please first of all keep that day free. we're most probably meeting at 2pm for some last min practice before the actual performance. More details will be updated later.
We'll be performing two songs. One of the songs that we will definitely use will be "Xi Yang Yang". More suggestions for the second song are welcomed :) . We are considering the following songs:
-Gan Hua Hui
-Feng Shou Luo Gu
-Dong Hai Yu Ge
the next practice will be on 29th dec. although our practice starts at 4pm, i do hope that everybody makes an effort to be on time. If possible, do come about 15min before 4pm so that we can setup and do tuning before the actual practice starts. Practice is short and we should really make full use of the practice time slot. so.. catch up with ur friends before or after the practice ok? we can always have dinner together after practice. Shu Ting also suggested some outings before the guzheng outing! All suggestions welcomed. Any one of you can also take the initiative to organise it!

Site launch!
THE GUZHENG SITE IS OFFICIALLY OPEN. REJOICE :D
I know, I know, there are so many incomplete sections, and there are some of you there who are STILL waiting for me to put up the Lantern Festival photos. I'm really sorry for the long wait and also for the delay in creating this site. I promise I'll work on the photos as soon as I turn in the last of my projects. ):
Please give me your comments/criticism regarding the overall feel/function of the site, and if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to let me know. I know some will be concerned about how they will be able to 'post' entries, since this is a website and not a blog. Don't worry, though. I'll pass you the site login details if you have HTML knowledge. If you don't, PLEASE CONTACT ME if you have anything you wish to add here! Thanks! ^^

Election
hey people.. sorry for the late update... i'm so tired and tied up with other stuff
anyway.. the election results:
The IT manager is not a very official post that's why it's put like that.
Anyway, there are still available posts for the juniors. namely the Welfare Rep and Quarter master. Juniors can run for these posts after you join.
so.. i'll be passing this blog over to shuting when i'm free. leave it to her for the photos and other stuff. i don't know how to do that lor. ahh i am quite an IT idiot yah. don't blame me.

ZHSS performance
jus a quick update and reminder for the performance.
Meet at ZHSS
Time: 2pm (try not to be late)
Venue: Wait outside general office
Attire: White collar short sleeve shirt/blouse, black Long pants/skirt, black covered shoes.
why try not to be late? cos we'll be going to carry the guzheng together from the place. and the aunty who's holding the key will be there waiting for us to finish collecting our guzheng. means we have to carry everything one shot. no such thing u come later then go there and take again. yup it's very inconvenient. so, make it a point to be punctual for future practices too.
anyway if u have a digi cam, u may wanna bring it cos Yu Hui wan some photos to applaud at. haha.
anyway.. right after the performance, the Elections is coming up. all the posts shall be given to people from the 2004 batch as the juniors are only coming in after their exams and we need the committe to function asap. Juniors don't be upset if you want a post but haven't get it. because we'll be stepping down sooner or later and we'll be passing the baton down. not occupying the posts forever.
More details of the elections will be up soon.

We officially start!
OK everything is finalized now.
First session of Guzheng alumni will start on 8 sept, Sat. and 15 sept is the performance. so we only have one session of practice before the performance. Very sorry for this but we all have to work harder for the performance already.
We will be playing œR‘°•‘‹È for the performance. Please practise before you come for the practice on 8 sept. i understand that many of us haven't touched guzheng for a long time. but just try your best and practise hard in the limited time left. For the performanance, maybe a small group will suffice so that it's easier to coordinate.
We need at least 6 people for the performance. at least 2 people from each sections. If the need arises, we may need to reshuffle people for the 3 sections.
For the first practice session on 8 Sept, it will probably be a longer session. because it's the one and ONLY practice b4 the performance. Maybe i will request 2pm to 6pm. but in future, practice will be 4pm-6pm every other saturday. Extremely light committment. Just 4 hours a month.
I will be meeting the alumni chairperson and zhss principal to discuss some admin matters. so on the first practice, we need to assign ourselves to each guzheng. Every guzheng has a number and i will need to create a list of who is assigned to which guzheng. We are responsible for the well-being of the guzhengs.
Expect another sms to inform you about the exact details of the first practice. Tentatively,

latest update
hi people.. most of you should have received one or more of my smses. But for the benefit of those who didn't i shall repeat it here.
ZHSS alumni finally gave me a nod, zhss venue for sat evening! however, they will need to pay extra for security guard. that's why i suggested sat morning to all of you.
Apparently, sat evening is a better choice because most of you have something on in the morning.
So, i will tentatively fix the practice time as: Sat 6pm-8pm, once every two weeks. In the event that we are preparing for a performance, we will increase the frequency of practice to once a week.
I understand that all of us are very busy now. many of us are in university now and some of you are preparing for prelims and A levels. but i really hope you people will spare the few hours of your time once every two week. this is not a very heavy commitment, but i think it is enough to keep the spirit going :)
for those of you preparing for A levels, you may join us after the exam.
Many of you are hesitant about joining cos you haven't been playing guzheng for a long time. please rest assured that many of us here are not playing guzheng in JC too. me included. So i will be going slow at first. don't have to worry that you can't catch up.
Lastly, 15 sept is the school aniversary. So ZHSS alumni requests an item from us. I will hope to make up a small group item for this event. Update you all about the choice of song soon. Any suggestions feel free to sms me at 92281056 or leave a comment here.
