Pictures of the Hellbranch Watershed

The purpose of this page will be to show the good and bad parts of the Hellbranch Watershed.  It may take a little while to download, so please be patient.  If you have any pictures you wish to post on this page, please E-mail phtonks@co.franklin.oh.us.

Hellbranch Run using floodplain land during flood stage.

An example of bad development techniques.  Any rain would cause large amounts of topsoil to flow directly into this tributary of Hellbranch Run, adversely affecting the water quality of Hellbranch Run and ultimately Big Darby Creek.

Amazing enough, this is a picture of Clover Groff at Frank's Park taken by Paul Tonks on March 1, 2002.  The stream carried the housing insulation downstream until it backed up when the stream went through some low overhanging brush.  The City of Columbus has since cleaned up this mess.

Here is another picture of the same area.

This is another picture further downstream.
