Shook #2 (rough)

The other day I got shook,
like never before,
down to the core
of my soul
and then more, while
a face with no name
stared down
with no shame
expecting to see
the young man who swore
that she
was the one
that he...

She looked at me
with uncertain eyes
that tied my tongue
with fear.
She looked at me
while I stood around,
bound by hands
from my past
that held me down
with shaking grasps.
She looked at me
from her place on stone
steps, alone
as faces flowed by
and all I could think
was that she wasn't mine.
She looked at me,
and I wanted to die;
then she walked away
and I did.
