EACH HABITAT OFFICE OPERATES INDEPENDENTLY, SERVING ITS OWN COUNTY- WE SERVE PEOPLE IN NEED WHO LIVE OR WORK IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY ONLY. Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County P.O. Founded in 1992
HFHWC
HFHWC is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County works in partnership with people in need to build decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - 'sweat equity' - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
". . .so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which people can live and grow into all that God intended...." It is the mission statement of Habitat for Humanity International and affiliates everywhere. It is what we are about. It means that the heart and soul of our effort is "God's people in need." As a practical matter, the lifeblood of the program is our sponsors. Churches, Corporations, Schools and other organizations will soon be preparing their budgets for 2003. The time for discussing Habitat House sponsorships is at hand. WE NEED YOUR HELP! If your club, company, church, or school is a potential candidate for a full or partial sponsorship, please discuss that with the appropriate people in the organization and let us know if our contact with them is practical and who that contact person should be. Your introduction of us to the contact person might be very important to our effort. The $200,000 grant from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency is not currently in the state budget and and has required some increase to the present $55,000 sponsorship request since the Legislature has not replaced this previously used program. Since passing this increase on to the homeowners is not practical, the number of partial sponsorships may need to be increased. Please think about and pray about your possible assistance in this important aspect of our mission. ---In His Service---Ermon Lature Executive Director

Habitat is diligently working to expand our community of sponsors and volunteers. Currently, we have a high school chapter affiliates at Brentwood High School, Franklin High School, Centennial High School, and Battleground Academy. Brentwood Academy builds with us every other year, and Page High school will be forming a campus chapter this year. In addition Page High is building a home on site at the school through their vo-tech program. We will move this home to a lot at our new subdivision in Franklin. We also are inviting a broader corporate involvement to increase our ability to buy land and build homes. If your corporation is interested in partnering with Habitat, either through work groups or sponsorship of a home (partial, or whole) please contact Ermon Lature, Executive Director.

Our next application period for 2003 families will be on May 10th at 9am at Franklin Limestone Baptist Church. Family selection process will continue until December 2003. Questions should be directed to Mary Rucker, our Family Selection Administrator.
