Allow me to introduce myself in a traditional Spanish manner:
Soy Brandi Crapser y Luze de Moresco.
I am Brandi Crapser (paternal) and Luze (maternal) of Moresco (married name).
For those unacquainted with me, I suffer quite happily from a life-long obsession with Spanish.
Although, I must sadly admit, I have lost fluency over the past few years as the working world
took priority and I found less time to pursue my love of Spanish. Enough with my excuses,
though, as I fully intend to update my websites and return to my Spanish lessons!
BLAH BLAH...Poetry, Art...
Though I've played with languages my entire life, my official Spanish training began around 1999. From those first lessons, I advanced through all four levels of high school Spanish at Brookings High. Under the expert instruction and encouragement of Señora Joyce McDaniel, I devoured knowledge other teachers reserved for our university levels. As my obsession with the language and culture grew, I founded and published a four-page Spanish newspaper (Canción de Amistad) for our school. Sadly, beyond some of the students, myself, and Señora, no one knew that newspaper existed.
In June and July of 2004, Señora took twenty eager students--myself included!--into the magical Kingdom of Spain. After an unplanned emergency landing in Saint John's, New Foundland, Canada--where we existed for eleven cold hours--, and losing some of our electronic tickets in Germany, and waiting at Madrid's airport for a couple hours..., we toured various cities all over Spain! On our first day there, I was forgotten at el Museo del Prado! My very first time in a foreign country...and hailing a taxi!
