sunnah term in Quran

In the name of Allah most gracious most merciful

Assalaamualaikum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuhu,

The term "Sunna" in Quran.It appears 10 times in Quran.Sunnah [practice] of Allah subhanawatala ,Sunnah[practice] of people.Transliteration of verses is also given to verify the term sunnah.Its in the form of "sunnatal" etc.

-The practice approved of Allah subhanawatala for the believers as duty.To every generation of people Allah subhanawatala gave duties since Adam alai salaam .So all are gives duties and its the oldest practise of Allah subhanawatala.

33:38 There can be no difficulty to the Prophet in what Allah has indicated to him as a duty. It was the practice (approved) of Allah amongst those of old that have passed away and the command of Allah is a decree determined.

Transliteration Ma_ ka_na alan nabiy yi min harajin fima_ faradal la_hu lah *sun natal* la_hi fil lazina halau min qabl wa ka_na amrul la_hi qadaram maqdu_ra_

-The practise[sunnah] of Allah in punishing the evil doers.And hence it will continue.

33: 62 (Such was) the practice (approved) of Allah among those who lived aforetime: no change wilt thou find in the practice (approved) of Allah.

Transliteration *Sun natal* la_hi fil lazina halau min qabl wa lan tajida lisun natil la_hi tabdila_

[the above verse need to be read into context:33:60 Truly if the Hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and those who stir up sedition in the City desist not We shall certainly stir thee up against them: then will they not be able to stay in it as thy neighbors for any length of time:

61 They shall have a curse on them: wherever they are found they shall be seized and slain (without mercy).]

-The practise of Allah subhanawatala to help the believers and punish the unbelievers will continue.

48:23 (Such has been) the practice. (Approved) of Allah already in the past: no change wilt thou find in the practice (approved) of Allah.

Transliteration *Sun natal* la_hil lati qad khalat min qablu wa lan tajida lisun natil la_hi tabdila_

[the above verse needs to be read under the context for better understanding.48:20 Allah has promised you many gains that ye shall acquire and He has given you these beforehand; and He has restrained the hands of men from you; that it may be a Sign for the Believers and that He may guide you to a Straight Path;

21 And other gains (there are) which are not within your power but which Allah has compassed: and Allah has power over all things.

22 If the Unbelievers should fight you they would certainly turn their backs; then would they find neither protector nor helper.]

-Allah subhanawatala will continue to punish the unbelievers.Its his pracise.

35:43 On account of their arrogance in the land and their plotting of Evil. But the plotting of Evil will hem in only the authors thereof. Now are they but looking for the way the ancients were dealt with? But no change wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing): no turning off wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing).

Transliteration Istikba_ran fil ardi wa makras say yi wa la_ yahiqul makrus say yi u il la_ bi ahlil fahal yansuru_na il la_ *sunatal* aw walin falan tajida lisun natil la_hi tabdila_ walan tajida lisun natil la_hi tahwila_

-This is the practise of unbelievers.

15:13:That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away.

Transliteration La_ yu'minu_na bihi wa qad khalat *sunnatul* awwalin(a).

15:11 But never came an apostle to them but they mocked him.

12 Even so do We let it creep into the hearts of the sinners ]

-The unbelievers wants themselves to be treated like their earlier people in punishment or they want doom[judgement day].

18:55 And what is there to keep back men from believing now that Guidance has come to them nor from praying for forgiveness from their Lord but that (they ask that) the ways of the ancients be repeated with them or the Wrath be brought to them face to face?

Transliteration Wa ma_ mana'an na_sa ay yu'minu_ iz ja_'ahumul huda_ wa yastagfiru_ rabbahum illa_ ay ta'tiyahum *sunnatul* awwalina au ya'tiyahumul 'azu_bu qubula_(n).

-Allah subhanawatala will continue to punish the unbelievers.Its his pracise.

- Allah subhanawatala's practise to strengethen the apostles.

17:77 (This was Our) way with the apostles We sent before thee: thou wilt find no change in Our ways.

Transliteration *Sunnata* man qad arsalna_ qablaka mir rusulina_ wa la_ tajidu lisunnatina_ tahwila_(n).

74 And had We not given thee strength thou wouldst nearly have inclined to them a little.

75 In that case We should have made thee taste an equal portion (of punishment) in this life and an equal portion in death: and moreover thou wouldst have found none to help thee against Us!

76Their purpose was to scare thee off the land in order to expel thee; but in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after thee except for a little while. ]

- Practices of people passed away who rejected faith.Their destruction can be seen by seeing the ruins .

3:137 Yusuf Ali Many were the Ways of Life that have passed away before you: travel through the earth and see what was the end of those who rejected truth.

Transliteration Qad khalat min qablikum *sunan(un)*, fa siru_ fil ardi fanzuru_ kaifa ka_na'a_qibatul mukazzibin(a).

-Allah subhanawatala explains the practices/examples of previous people.And to be merciful to the believers.

4:26 Yusuf Ali Allah doth wish to make clear to you and to show you the ordinances of those before you; and (He doth wish to) turn to you (in Mercy): and Allah is All-Knowing All-Wise.

Transliteration Yuridulla_hu liyubayyina lakum wa yahdiyakum *sunanal* lazina min qablikum wa yatu_ba 'alaikum, walla_hu'alimun hakim(un).
