Before I left for Taiwan, I decided it was high time I went and visited Sonia and Jorge in Portland... and since Paulin was so close by in Seattle, I took the train up to Seattle for about a week.

In Portland, I mostly hung out with Sonia and Jorge and sometimes we all went over to their friends' house, Nick and Anora (I think that's her name...). Sonia could only take a few days off, but we managed to take a day trip to the oceanside... so beautiful! There's a quaint town nearby where we bought some saltwater taffy. I bought a bag for AJ and also found some Jamaica me crazy seasoning (which AJ didn't seem too excited about when I brought it back, but oh well).

The other few days I just walked around Portland. The tram system is pretty good. I went into a Chinese antique store and saw a Qing dynasty bed. Hm... only $15,000. Not too bad right? Someday I'll have one. I also went to Portland's Chinatown and visited the Chinese Garden. When I came back from Seattle, we all went to the Rose Garden.

In Seattle, I went to Pike's Place, Gasworks Park, and Paulin also took me walking around a few places, but I can't recall the names... He had to fly out for a wedding the next day, so I ended up staying in his room and hanging out w/ his roommates a little. That Friday, one of his roommates took me to a pub where we met his girlfriend. We 3 watched this crazy skinny performer with this gravelly bass voice. I really enjoyed his show... but of course I don't remember his name. I'll email Paulin and ask.

On the weekend, Sonia, Jorge, Nick, and Anora all drove up to Seattle and I met them at the Space Needle. There was a Tibetan festival I wanted to catch, so they went w/ me. Nothing really exciting. There were some performances, but mostly by kids. So we took off and went around Seattle. I wish I could remember the name of the neighborhood we went to. While there, some lady approached me about some model competition telling me I had "a unique look." Oh well. Sorry lady, you're about 10 years too late :P!
