Week 8
Thursday, Dec. 26th...

Flight to HK.

Friday, Dec. 27th...

HK is freakin crazy... I feel so clausterphobic. Now I know where the term "Black Mountain" came from. Went to Mongkok and ppl were walking in the streets. At first I thought all the streets were closed off, but then some cars tried to make their way through! There were so many sales, I felt like I was in a feeding frenzy & I felt so lightheaded all the wya back home. I spent my money to the last cent! I can't believe it! HK is unbelievable... there's so many ppl... I still feel dizzy. Maybe I'm thirsty.

I'm so ashamed of acting like a typical tourist & buying stuff like crazy [I bought 6 fake D&G ties]. I don't know what I'd do if I actually lived here!

¦: congee @ starhouse

¤È: Pep 'n' Spices... just so so

±ß: small noodle shop w/ steam in window. Ordered ramen... and that's exactly what I got :O I was sichuan style. Not too bad, but not the best.

Saturyday, Dec. 28th...

¤È: Canton restaurant in Guangdong hotel. I ordered shrimp dumplings, roasted pigeon, and bird's nest soup (which was US$40 alone!). I just wanted to know what the big deal about bird's nest soup was and why it was so expensive... and when I ate it, I was still left wondering... :? what's the big deal???

Went on a free Cantonese opera tour at the Heritage museum. It was just ok. Met some American Christians teaching in Guam. Uri is a nice name. He was cute, but his friend ended up talking to me the most... and then they all disappeared. Oh well. The tour was just ok, but I wasn't really impressed with the Heritage Museum. I can't believe it's called "the best" museum in HK. Anyway, to combat the culture shock, I bought some ºû¥L¥¤ and some ¿N½æ but the ¿N½æ wasn't the same as I had before. Oh well, the ºû¥L¥¤ was comforting.

For dinner, around 10pm I broke down and went to the Spaghetti House. A small pizza was so expensive, but it was sooooo good after 2 months of Taiwanese food. Mmm....

Sunday, Dec. 29th...

Went to M on the Fringe for dinner. So good! I would definitely recommend this place. I lucked out: on Sundays, they have a special champagne and caviar sampler for only HK$10. I've never had soufflee before... and the ice cream... sugar-crusted pecan... and I don't like ice cream... to die for!
