Did you know that Hungary is indipendent for less than 100 years. Before it was a part of Austria and you can see their influence everywhere. I just visited Budapest, the other capital of Austria before World War I.
It is a beautiful old city with actually two parts, one is Buda, the other one called Pest
with the castle.
I travelled there twice, once before the communist system broke down and the second time almost 10 years later. The changes were of course amazing. Before everything seemed grey. Now the houses are colorful again, because of the big tourist attraction. Of course they tried to make the city more beautiful. they did not change a lot, because the city was already very beautiful.
When you go to Budapest you have to try the famous hot springs there. I went there once. The buildings were amazing, it seems like you make a trip back to the beginning of the 20 th century....
And don't forget to try their National Dishes
