I S R A E L

I have been to Israel in October 1996. There was still a hope that peace had a chance. Now 5 years later it seems that there is no chance anymore.

Maybe there will be never peace or even a chance of more understanding with violence on both sides. No matter what the other side is doing, one of them should be brave enough to say:

Stop the violence.
Many people already died.
We have to live together and why should we make our lifes so hard.

Caesaria

We all don't live there. We are not able to see what happens there every day. What we see is what they tell us in the news. Maybe we are all sensitive at the moment, about what is happening in this area.

I can remember that in school a priest told us that Israel is the "holy" country for christians, muslims and jews. At the moment it does not seem to be "holy" but more to be like a battle field.....

When I visited Jerusalem for the first time I was impressed of the city. I will see a city which is actually more than 3000 years old. The city of the bible, the city where Jesus died. I had this all in my mind when I walked around in the small streets of the old town. Although there were many tourists, I could see what was going on there. It seemed like an occupied city. I have never seen so much military police with loaded guns in my whole life.

For me this has nothing to do with security. They are there to show the others we have the power to kill you anytime we want. I wonder what is happening there now...maybe there is more military than people there at the moment....although both of them are just human.....
