Italy is maybe one of the few countries where you can find everything what you need to have a wonderful life. There is of course the famous Italian "La dolce vita", which means "sweet life". This includes good food, fantastic wine, good weather and beautiful girls...:-). There is of course more. Italy has a long history, with many up and downs. If you are interested in historical cities and sites, then you can choose from many different places. You can find many arts, from the ancient to modern. And at the end you can find very friendly people in the whole country, maybe not in the big cities, but in every small town.
One more I would like to tell here... In Italy you can find maybe the most crazy drivers in the whole Europe, but you will like....:-).
