This does not count as a regular update, since I have 10 minutes and we're getting ready to head into town..no, not Paris, but Amsterdam. VERY long story short, 15 of our Gabon group gave up our seats so a Peace Corps group going to Mauritania on the same flight could get to Paris before us. We were promised seats on the next plane, but Delta lied hardcore and hours later they stuck us on a plane (double-decker, nonetheless!) to Amsterdam, where we have a few hours layover before FINALLY reaching Paris where we'll meet the rest of our Gabon counterparts. I can't even explain how exhausted I am, but I'm in AMSTERDAM so I'm psyched to check it out.

As for the actual PEACE CORPS portion of life now, I have never felt more secure and rational in my decision to do this. The friends I've made so far are beyond amazing and we're all so highly "pedigreed" for this job that it's rather disgusting.

Anyway, maybe more from Paris once I get there, but for now I must sign off. Just wanted to send a quick hello to the world and let you know that while I can hardly keep my eyes open, I'm alive, ecstatic, and thrilled to be doing this.

Love and more-
Leah Anne(e)
