| Helga's Masquerade | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Helga decides that since Arnold is interested in Lila so much, maybe acting like Lila is the key to making him like her Written by Michelle Lamoreaux Story by Michelle Lamoreaux and Steve Viksten Storyboard Direction by Kurt Dumas Animation Direction by Frank Weiss Storyboard Artist: Caesar Martinez Cast: Arnold - Spencer Klein Helga (uncredited) - Francesca Smith Gerald - Jamil Smith Lila - Ashley Buccille Harold - Justin Shenkarow Rhonda - Olivia Hack Stinky - Christopher Walberg * Stinky calls Helga "Helga", but Lila "Miss Lila" * The ends of Lila's braids are flat, but the ones on Helga's Lila wig come to a point * Rhonda asked about square and triangular sandwiches, but the one Helga served Arnold was heart-shaped * In the last scene, Nadine and Brainy (dressed as Elvis) are sitting and (apparently) talking to each other * How do you have an episode about Helga without giving her a credit? Meanwhile, Sam Gifaldi gets a credit as Sid, but he doesn't speak in this story (nor in "Mr. Green Runs", either) * Something strange is happening...the first time I saw the credits, I could have sworn Francesca Smith did get a credit as Helga, and Ashley Buccille's and Christopher Walberg's names were spelled "Bucille" and "Waldberg". It's possible that somebody tried to correct the credits and mistakenly replaced Helga's credit with one for Sid. (This is not a good episode for credits; the first time it aired, the credits for "Veteran's Day" appeared.) |

| When the local city councilman does a poor job handling a pothole outside of Green Meats, Mr. Green decides to run against him for city council
Written by Joseph Purdy Storyboard Direction by Kurt Dumas Animation Direction by Frank Weiss Storyboard Artist: ? Cast: Arnold - Spencer Klein Mr. Green - James Keane Grandpa, Public Works foreman - Dan Castellaneta Councilman Gladhand - John O'Hurley Lorraine, debate moderator - Lisa Fuson Ned (radio DJ), announcer - Craig Bartlett Man with chicken - (uncredited) * "Where have I heard Councilman Gladhand before?" John O'Hurley is probably best known as J. Peterman on Seinfeld; he's also the host of the latest version of To Tell the Truth * When Mr. Green went to see Councilman Gladhand, he left the butcher shop open - and empty * Councilman Gladhand uses a wooden tennis racket - do they still make those? * When Coulcilman Gladhand greets Arnold, he actually says "Hey Arnold" - how many people (besides Gerald) actually say that? * Councilman Gladhand said he would do something "ex post facto"; loosely translated, it means "after the fact" (the Constitution prohibits the passing of any "ex post facto law", which is a law making something done in the past illegal) * What does Mr. Green do now? Being a city councilman appears to be a full-time job - what if somebody calls him at 4:30 to complain about a pothole, only to have somebody respond "sorry, he's still at the butcher shop"? And why do I have the feeling we'll be hearing "Councilman Green" about as often as we'll be seeing Rhonda wear her glasses? |
