Bad Day!

Have you ever had a hard day at school or at work and thought to yourself, “I hope that never happens again”? Well, let me share with you about one of my worst days ever. I don’t remember it because I was so young but it sure was my worst day ever. On the day I was born, my mother was told that I would not survive for more than 24 hours. You see, I was born with birth defect called Spina Bifida and no one knew it until I was born. So, since no one knew it, I developed an infection and came close to death. It was touch and go for a while but, I survived! I just currently graduated and I am looking forward to my future.

Now, lets talk about my best friends worst time. He had just gotten back in to town but not long after the police started looking for Him. One of His closet friends turned Him in … with a kiss. The police took Him before the Governor, he asked a crowd of people whether they would rather take my friend or let a murder go. They chose my friend. The crowd even wanted Him to be killedI So the police took Him out back, stripped Him, put a scarlet robe on Him. Went over to the bushes and put together a crown of thorns and put it on him. It wasn’t just little thorns, they were about 3 in. long, they actually had to bang them into His head. After this they made fun of Him, and spit on Him. Then they beat Him over the head with a staff, again, and again, until He fell to the ground. Next, they picked Him up, made Him walk a ways, tied His hands up and whipped Him. But you see, this was not any whip. This whip had 9 whips rolled into one. At the end of each whip there was a peice of sharp stone, so they would whip you with it and the sharp stone would get stuck in your side, then they would pull it back, and it would just rip your skin right off. They did that 39 times. 40 was said to kill a man for sure so it was illegal, and some were killed with just 20 whippingsI After this they tied Him to a huge cross bar. You see, He was to be crucified. He was so beaten up He could not make it the whole way. He was supposed to carry it so, they made another man help out. They all got to this mountain called, The Place Of The Skull. And they nailed Him to that board. First His right hand, then the left, next, one through His feet. And He hung there for 9 hours just dying. At the 9th hour, He had died but, to make sure, they put a spear in his side, blood and water flowed out. This showed that He was dead.

You see, my best friend’s name is JESUS. What I went through, what you have gone though, it’s nothing. And remember how you never wanted to do it again? He would do it over and over for every single person in the world, if it was needed! And when you were just having a bad time, you were thinking about yourself, but you know what? He was thinking of you the entire time! He said eloi, eloi, lama sabachani, which means, "IT IS FINISHED". He was thinking of you, and He said that He is even now thinking of you. My mom once said, “if JESUS had a wallet, your picture would be in it!” I am going to end with this, the most well know verse in the Bible, John 3:16! Every one says this like a million times, but it has lost a lot of true meaning since it is said so much, but really think of it. Say it with me. For GOD so loved the world, that He gave his only son, that whoever believed in Him, would not perish but have everlasting life.
