An Antweight is a very small type of combat robot, a sort of scaled down version of the ones on that well known robotic combat based TV program which apparently I can't mention the name of here otherwise they'll sue me. The Ants were invented by Adam Clark, of Corporal Punishment and Mangulator fame. The rules for an Ant are very briefly, that the robot must weigh a maximum of 150 grams and fit within a four inch (about 100mm) cube. The real challenge forme is the weight limit, I can build Ants which fit in the cube but almost all of mine have been over the weight limit! :-)

New Class of robots - the 1kg weight class. Similar rules to Ants except the robots will be 6 inches cube, 1kg (or 2kg for walkers) limit, and fighting will be in a 2m square arena. This page includes rules, as well as some initial ideas and experiments for robots of this type.

Just returned from Nano Wars, an event held by Craig Danby in Reading. Blimey. One of our two working receivers doesn't, so I had to borrow a couple from Craig. Got XR220 working and entered it in the melee but it got turned on its side - the only position it can't recover from - and so lost. Later on it got absolutely minced by Peter Waller's awesome new robot Anticyclone. PiG worked quite well until one of the saw blades got knocked out of line and started hitting the floor of the arena, which cost me the fight. I'll have to use Araldite as well as screws to fix the blades on next time.
Not all Ant pages are easy to find, until now that is. :)
