Robert Timothy Halderson is my adopted name. I grew up in Toronto and have lived and worked in the Ottawa area since 1973. I am interested in connecting with members of my birth family.
My father was 40 yrs old when I was born.. He was an American who was working in an applied science field on contract to a Canadian company. He had 5 children, 9 to 19 yrs of age at that time. He also had 2 brothers & 2 sisters. One sister was in education while the others as well as his father were in medicine.
My mother, 25 yrs old at the time of my birth, was born in a small town in rural Ontario, as were her parents. She taught at business colleges and enlisted in the Armed Forces. When I was born she had one brother who was 2 yrs older. He was also in the Armed Forces and then he worked for a railway company. He had one son. My grandmother was Irish/Protestant and had 3 brothers. My grandfather had one brother and two married sisters. Both my grandfather and his brother worked for the same mining company. My great grandparents came from Germany.
I have had a good life thanks to my adoptive parents who have both passed away. I am very interested in my genealogy and I have also never been able to answer my doctor's questions about my family medical history and believe that every one should have a right to that information.
