What a beautiful concert. I'm always amazed how essential music is and how it gets me into the present moment, which of course is the surest course to winning peace. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Monday night was absolutely wonderful . . . We hope that there will be more events as such. We would love to help out . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Hearty congratulations on an outstanding, historic event. Music deserves its voice and you helped make that happen. It took a lot of courage and determination to pull it off--and you did!!! As chair of the NGO working group on health for Unicef, I thank you on behalf of the children of Iraq. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Congratulations for a great event! I really enjoyed the concert, the words and the people. I was moved by the two endings, the first with 4' 33" where the silence spoke to and for us all the things we have to share. . . . . The second ending was even more intense with that mysterious beauty of the simplest things. Whoever got the idea I think it was fantastic, extremely beautiful. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The ending was spectacular . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Thanks so much for the event at Symphony Space. We loved it. . . . .Carry on and let us know if there's any way we can be of help. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . What a wonderful musical event! Indeed, it helps create our beloved community. Thanks so much for your perseverance, patience and energy to make it happen. . . . .And with that beautiful closing, I must admit I fought back tears of joy to be there and part of the 'Breaking the Silence' emerging community. Where's our protest music in these dark times of need, where America's first fascist president and his regime attempt to dominate and oppress and dehumanize us. Internationalism, solidarity, organizing, educating, resistance and struggle are so needed. Here is the power of music/songs to restore and fuel our spirits and support us in taking back our world of one and all. . . . thank you again and all the terrific musicians at the concert for continuing the struggle, which will last I feel till the end of our days. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Congratulations on your event at Symphony Space! It was an incredible night - beautiful music that really spoke for itself, and commentary from very relevant, interesting people. You must have been thrilled with the success of the evening, and I'm sure the inspiration people in the audience felt will carry on in positive directions. A much needed coming together in NYC! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .there couldn't have been a more worthy recipient than Doctors Without Borders. The Nation was the perfect literary alliance. The performers were all great and the music so diversely interesting that Icouldn't tear myself away, even though I felt I needed to [Tthis person had to leave the concert just before the finale to catch a train.] (only to be stopped by you at the door, and thank you for that too). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Great show on Monday! The feelings of solidarity were strong. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Thank you so very much for telling us about the concert and helping to organize. We LOVED it. Alex and Patrick and I had a wonderful time. The music was wondrous and by the last song we were in tears. Break the silence baby!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I attended An Evening of Music & Discourse for Peace & Democracy and I found it one of the most exciting events I have ever heard. The organization by Messrs. Schickele and Sherry was superb, witty and effective. and all the musicians were magnificent and sincere. Thank you for the wonderful evening that you all gave us. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I did get to symphony space that night (even though I worked until 5pm way out here in NJ). I am so honored to have been present.I was most touched by 4'33". . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . “Breaking the Silence” was a supremely sublime experience. A very special evening that will not be forgotten. Bravo and congratulations to you and the artists and everyone associated with the concert. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . What a wonderful, affirming event – as an artist, I feel encouraged. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . This has been a great event. Uplifting, full of hope. Thanks! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . What an amazing confluence of creativity, dedication, celebration, innovation, and friendship! Everybody was superb -- from the ushers, stage crew, sound and light people to the performers and speakers. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . It’s not over when it’s over. I’m sure the worst is yet to come . . . Let’s continue to speak and sing. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The evening is a beautiful, innovative, and generous expression of peace. Proud to be part of it. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Thank you for an astonishingly interesting and moving event. ______________________________________________________________________________ |
