In Loving Memory

Dream A Little Dream Of Me

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper I love you
Bird singing in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me

Say nitey nite... and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading..but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this...

Sweet dreams... till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams... that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams, whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading... but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this...

Sweet dreams... till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams... that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams, whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Ma Ma Remembers
In the Morning

Every morning Haley would wake up and call out to her Ma-Ma and Da-Da. We would go into her room and lift her out of her crib. She would be jabbering away and let you know she wanted her “ba-ba". We would take her to the kitchen and get her a bottle of milk and place her in her "car" that her Da-Da made for her out of a cardboard box. We would place a bowl of cereal on top of the “hood” and she would watch Sesame Street while we got ready upstairs.

In the Afternoon

We loved taking Haley to the parks near our house. It was almost a daily ritual - Haley would get out of the car and we would say “look Haley, we’re at the park!” and she would get all excited and do her “happy dance” all the way to the playground. We have a toddler bench dedicated in Haley’s memory with a plaque that reads: “For All Our Happy Little Children - Haley Chonsa Tom” at one of these parks.

In the Evening

Haley’s favorite food was fruit (strawberries were #1), minced pork (Chinese dishes), smoothies and corn. She had just discovered how to eat corn on the cob. She would watch her Da-Da eat it and try and copy him. She kept eating in the same spot and every time her Ma-Ma tried to turn the cob around she would still just eat in the same spot. It wasn’t until her Ma-Ma took the corn on the cob and bit into it in another place did she realize that you ate all around the cob. She laughed and ate EVERY kernel of corn on that cob!

Our Little Girl

Haley was growing up so fast! She was becoming a little girl with her own personality growing stronger each day. Her great-grandfather would tell us she just keep getting prettier and prettier every time he saw her. We couldn’t agree with him more. This past Easter was our last holiday together. She was really able to enjoy it this year - running around and picking up the Easter eggs along with her cousins. We’re so glad we captured the entire event on video. We call this photo her “Este Lauder” shot because of the pretty dress and the innocent pose we captured.

Our Growing Family

Haley’s little baby sister, Megan, was born on April 26, 2000 - 19 days before Haley went to Heaven. In those 19 days, Haley kissed Megan more than anyone. They were not your “normal” kisses, they were big “mmmm-uhhh” kisses right on the nose!

When Megan was born we decided to have just Haley and the two of us in the hospital room first. We talked and played and then brought Megan into the room. We said, “Look Haley! Your new baby sister!” This was our first picture of our growing family - our “girls”. Haley looked and touched then started to play. When Megan started to cry in her bassinet, Haley, panicking, said “baby!” and grabbed the nearest person (who happened to be her grandma) and pulled her to Megan as if to tell her “please hold my baby sister!” We are blessed that we got to see Haley as a big sister. She was the best big sister anyone could have asked for.

SUDC is...
Sudden Unexplained Death In Childhood.
It is the sudden, unexpected and unexplained death
of a child over the age of twelve months.
It remains unexplained after a death scene investigation,
full autopsy and a review of the child's medical history.
Less is known about SUDC.
It is less common than SIDS
and there has been virtually no research focused on these children.

Donations to the
Post infancy SIDS research fund
on behalf of Haley is greatly aprreciated

I never got a chance to play with you as much as I wanted to.
I always thought there would be time.
By making this website for you, Haley, it's a way to share you with your family and friends.
But more importantly, It's a way for me to spend a little more time with you.
Love you forever, Your Uncle Terry
