Map To Show

Changed show time, Omega Red will open at or near 6:00.

FINALLY. The show has a location. It will be at the Williamson County Regional Park at 6:00, NOT 7:30, for $5. (The money is a fund raiser for Round Rock's theatre program.) Also, we finished the demo today and they will be sold for a dollar. We drew random, different pictures on each one that are completely worthless. I'll put a link up on the left for a map to the show. That is all. <~>

4/18/03
Not that anyone was missing it very much, but sorry for not updating this ever. Um, recent news...we're almost done with the demo, and it'll be done for the show (and a bit before hopefully). We have the music for Soma done and just have to record Sean; Second is almost completely done (vocals done, but perhaps re-do some). The instrumental (Ninth) is completely done and mastered. Also, today at Aaron's we made up an acoustic and put words and singing to it all in like 10 minutes. So we'll see how that goes. Also, I don't know if we'll have artwork or even cases, or just plain cds to hand out. They'll be $1 each. Um, show's in 8 days. People should come. We have a warm up secret show that we're not telling people about, too, that'll be pretty telling of how we'll do at the real thing next Saturday. I think that's all. <~>

4/1/03
I wish I was cool enough to be like toolshed and have a really sweet April Fool's joke, but I'm not, so...no joke here. Anyway, over in Groupies there's a prototype Groupies Quiz so go look at it and IM me with your answers if you're a groupie. (Sojo sol erba.) <~>

3/31/03
Okay, this is the big announcement. ("Big announcement." Ha.) Anyway, Ben and I decided we're going to have a t-shirt concert for the design of our first band t-shirt. I'll put up a link to the right, but basically we'd just like people to make designs for a t-shirt they come up with, they don't have to be incredibly artistic, or in-depth, or even very good, just ideas and crap. You can email Ben at omegadrummer@sexmagnet.com if you have it on the computer, through scanning or whatever, or you can just give them to any of the band members or Chris Smith. (Oh, and I guess, like, if your idea wins, you get a free shirt of something.) Next on the agenda is that I would like to thank, on behalf of the other members as well, all of the (28) different people that came to hear us on Saturday. We played for more than 10 hours straight. Anyway, we were all dead, but anyone and everyone who took time out of their day to come rules all. Next, I think I'm making an ammendment to our preliminary set list. Not as if anyone even knows any of our songs or cares, but instead of Turkish, I think we're going to play a new song we wrote today. (Number 9 if you're keeping count.) It's really intense and          and heavy and will be a cool instrumental. Next, I think I'm going to try to put up a couple more lyrics in the next few days. They'll be for Second and Third (they'll have real names by then I think), and the ones for Second are the ones that Aaron wrote (I've written all the others). So, treat. (?) Anyway. Next, not that anyone has actually read this far, people should go to the messageboard and talk and crap, cause it's really cool and actually really nice, so go and speak amongst yourselves and pick your own topics. Next, Vicky still has not informed me where the show has been relocated to, but I will definitely put that up immediately. We've been telling an insane amount of people about the show and when it is, so I would be supremely disappointed if it ended up being cancelled. That would suck. Anyway, next, I have been informed by Aaron that I am to make it known clearly, that I am the only band member who is not "pro war." This does not mean that I do not support our President, his decision, or our troops especially, but I personally do not think we should have gone to war, and I believe it is unjust, but we are definitely not a political band so don't let that bother you. Especially since Aaron, Tyler, and Ben are all very, very pro war. I am not aware as to Sean's thoughts or beliefs. Anyway. Next, since everyone is probably getting tired of how crappy this site is, and how there have been some "temporary shutdowns" or whatever, Ben is designing a new site. And he does all that HTML crap and knows what he's doing, so it'll actually be cool. Next, we have been recording with Tyler's digital recording crap, and it's surprisingly really, really good quality, and we finished all of the music for Second, and everything but the solo, rhythm/harmonized guitar, and my
second, overlapping bass track (muahahaha) on First Song (Soma). We even recording preliminary vocals for First Song, but we're going to re-do them. Anyway, we're thinking we're going to put those two, and an instrumental, on cd's and sell them for a buck or two. (And be prepared for a surprise at the end...) Finally, I would just like to say that after the 26th show, we will be planning a show with The Tonebenders as soon as possible, because we cower in their rock presence, because they rule all. So be looking forward to that. I believe that is all. ("All.") Until next time. <~>

3/31/03
Alright I went into this thinking that there should be a bunch of updates, but there's probably only a few. If anyone has been keeping up with the Guestbook, it's been rather interesting. A person calling themself "copycat" has been signing much. In the beginning, he comes off as a complete embecile, but as you read more, you realize that, indeed, he is not only a complete embecile, but ridiculously stupid, ignorant, and cannot even insult or argue well whatsoever. Aaron and Ben have had some extremely funny and clever responses, and they are very much worth checking out. They "dropped him" as Aaron would say. Alright that's that. I just realized that I really do have a whole lot of things to say on here, so I think I'm going to start a new entry to just list everything. <~>

3/26/03
This feels like so many updates in a row. Well we took pictures of us playing last Saturday, so now in Bios we have a picture for Aaron, Ben, me, and Chris. Just click on the small one for a bigger version. I have a picture of Sean but for some reason his bio is messing up on me so I'll fix that when I get home today. <~>

3/25/03
Okay now the other one's up. Also, credit due to Lindsey for emailing me the pictures (and to her father, Steve Martin, for developing them). Perhaps a picture of her and Angela later. <~>

3/25/03
OKAY, you must all look at this. To the right is a link to a picture of me with straight hair (and later tonight, Sean and Matt too). Look, enjoy, and laugh. A lot. <~>

3/25/03
Chris Smith's bio is up. For anyone confused, no, he is not in the band. He is, however, an extremely cool guy, Ben's best friend, and has been at more than 20 practices of ours. He is a beast. So anyway, he has a bio, and you can go read it now. <~>

P.S. Later tonight I'm putting up pictures of Sean and I (and Matt Adams) with our hair straightened, when it was long a few months ago. You will make fun of me. A lot.

3/24/03
Alright it's been a while since I updated anything. I just added a groupie, I will add Chris's bio to the site tonight, and also Ben got a messageboard, which will be much easier for talking, and hopefully lots more people will talk on it. Oh yeah, and for some reason I haven't put this here yet, but a few changes about the show. First of all, Cruiserweight dropped out, but Valparaiso is now playing. Let it be known that Valparaiso rules all, and if you don't come for us, come for them. They're all beasts. Secondly, the show is no longer at Old Settler's Park, and will be at a location to be announced soon (whenever Vicky tells me). I think that's it. To keep you (all three of you) updated on
us, this past Saturday, Sean came and we had a mixer and speakers set up, and he sang with us, and it was really good slash cool. He has First and Second Song(s) down close to perfect. Before then, I'd been incredibly stressed about being ready for the show, but now I don't have much fear about it. We'll be fine. (We own the mixer, and are buying one of the (originally $400 each) speakers for $170, which is such a good deal. Once again thank you to Mr. Beittel. Such a beast.) Anyway, all is well, and thanks to anyone and everyone who comes to the site ever. That is all. <~>

3/17/03
Alright this isn't much of an update, but here goes cause people have asked for one. We wrote a new song today, and it's very cool. Also, we got the noise police called on us. Read Ben's entry in the guestbook for the larger story. So anyway, that makes eight songs. Me and Aaron talked about it and I think the set list (assuming we're ready with all of it) for the show is going to be Third, First, Second, Turkish March, Mexican. I don't think that means anything to anyone, but just so you know. (First is Soma, and Turkish March is our Mozart cover.) Um...Sean has learned (basically) First and Second, and is going to learn Third tomorrow I believe. Oh yeah, and will a girl (Ellen? Whoever?) make the Groupie quiz? I mean, I don't care, but lots of yall said something about it, so someone do it. Oh and finally, thanks once again to everyone signing the guestbook a lot, that's really cool. Also, thanks for the comments on the lyrics. Honesty is good, but being stupid is not. One note though: the song is not about
Brave New World. I've read it, and that's why there's a reference to something in it, but it is most certainly not about it. There's a reference to 1984 too, but it's not about that either. C'mon, guys. Read the books maybe for more understanding, but it's not about the book I promise. (Read more in the guestbook from "someone not in the band.") This is long. That is all. <~>

3/7/03
I just put up a million links. Millions equals about fifteen. Anyway, congratulations to Ms. Lindsey Martin for being the 1000th hit to the site. That's very cool we've had that many. Oh, and I just realized something tonight. Someone who actually has computer knowledge and can correct me on this, please do. The regular site URL says it has had just over 1000 hits. But if you had ".html" to that URL, then there is a different number, just a little over 600. I am wondering if that means the ".html" one has gotten 600 completely different hits to it, meaning the site as a whole has had more than 1600, or if I just have no idea what's going on and am a complete idiot in regards to all this. Anyway, jay doubleyou. That is all. <~>

3/7/03
I'm going out of town tomorrow through late Tuesday night, so I figured I would put up a few things to keep people happy slash preoccupied while I'm gone. Well, the few people who look at the site every once in a while. So anyway, I just put up lyrics to first song. I haven't done anything else yet, but I might like...I don't know, put links in or something. I don't know. Everything's so worthless. I was asked if the purpose of the site was to be as completely boring and unexciting as possible. The answer is yes. That is all. (Oh yeah, thank you to everyone signing the guestbook. Also, Mr. Beittel signed our guestbook. Be jealous.) <~>

3/5/03
Ramon reminded me that the name was his idea. So thank you Ramon. You rule all. <~>

3/5/03
Alright, like it or not, I think this one's for good. We decided to just go with this one, because, as you should know (and you're stupid if you don't), Omega Red is one of the sweetest X-Men characters of all time and almost killed Wolverine. I think he's Russian too. (As Aaron said to say, "He's a bad a.") If you don't like the name, we either don't care or you're dumb. If you don't like it just cause you don't, that's fine, but we just need a name. If you don't like it cause you think X-Men is stupid, never talk to any of us again. Finally
, click here to see some sweet pictures, or just on the title up there anytime to see them. There are four, and they're all sweet. That is all for now I believe. (Oh yeah, and thanks to everyone who's signing the guestbook, that's very cool.) OH YEAH, and: I am aware that the URL for this site still has "ideal form" in it, but really I don't care, because I (and anyone else who has this link) would have to change it and it's much to big of a hassle to change it all. Done. <~>

3/3/03
Alright, we need a new band name. I'll keep a running list, and when someone offers one that's good and we all agree on, and Aaron promises not to change his mand about it, we'll decide it for good. So start giving suggestions, either in the guestbook, in person, or just IM me (for anyone who doesn't know, like if you clicked this link from someone else's info, I am Brad, sojo sol erba). Also, this is really cool news. ("News." Pff.) We're covering Turkish March by Mozart for the concert. It is amazing. Aaron's been playing it for months now, but I started learning the bass today, and it is truly going to be insane. I think for the concert, since it's so amazingly fast and hard, we're going to pull seats out and sit down as we play. (Oh yeah, it's a metal version--distorted, hard guitars and drums.) For the few of you that will appreciate it, this is for you. <~>

3/2/03
I just put up a guestbook. I think it's a good one, but all of you experience guestbook-ers will have to inform me as to its quality. Also, just so everyone knows, anyone is welcome to sign it. I'm always scared to sign guestbooks of scary people's guestbooks, or scary bands' guestbooks, or bands' with scary friends guestbooks. Here, we don't care. Sign away. (I act as if everyone will be dying to sign. It'll be like me and Ramon.) That is all. <~>

2/28/03
Ben's either not going or rescheduling or something in regards to his conflict, because he wouldn't miss the show for anything. So we're still good to go. Also, all of you who either had tickets or the money for Ben Kweller, I hate you (tell me how it was though). Finally, all of you should go out right now and buy the new Switchfoot cd, it's calle
d The Beautiful Letdown and it rules all. <~>

2/27/03
Just for an update, I thought I'd share that Sean sang with us for the first time yesterday. He has First Song down basically, but it didn't work too well because A. he's pretty sick with the sinuses B. the mic and speakers were crap and kept feeding back the second he'd sing loud enough for us to hear him and C. he still needs to fine tune it. But it shows hope. Also, somewhat bad news--I say somewhat because I am not aware of the actual situation I just heard it second hand. Aaron informs me that Ben may have some kind of band trip or something the weekend of our scheduled show. This only makes sense because I swear God has it out for us, but I'm hoping that it will somehow work itself out. I will keep the site (for anyone who comes here...the two of yall) updated on this. Finally, I will repeat myself that anyone and everyone is welcome to come hear us play at Ben's. We really do actually enjoy it for a variety of reasons, so if you want to, please don't be shy. People keep being like "Oh, I can come?" or "Would it be a hassle...?" Just come. We love it. Wow, this is long. Goodbye. <~>

2/26/03
Happy Birthday Tyler Richards. Hope K Money makes it good. Also, happy birthday to Ms. Alyssa Fort. She is Mormon, and available, and extremely cool, and plays the violin, and her screen name is Schmicka226. IM her and get to know her. She rules all.

2/26/03
Dear everyone, I still have to talk/discuss/confirm with the guys, but assuming that they're not complete idiots, and there are no conflicts, here's the big news. We've been asked to open for Dynamite Boy, Cruiserweight, Manatee, and Thankstochalman. It starts at 8:00 Saturday, April 26th, at Old Settler's Park. Assuming this all works out, and whether this turns out to be our first show or not, I expect every single person who has ever met us in our entire lives to be there. If not, don't expect to wake up the next morning. We have between 15-25 minutes, so we'll probably play 3-5 songs. Oh sweet Lord, it's happening. (Thanks to vickyroo.) <~>

2/25/03
I put words to VI tonight, so now we have five with words. I'm frantically trying to finish them to keep up with the music pace, so hopefully I'll have them all finished soon enough. Also, we really need a guestbook on here, but the guestbooks suck          style on geocities so if anyone would like to inform me where there are good ones, so I could link to it, or even give me a pre-made one. Man, that'd be sweet. <~>

2/25/03
Mr. Sean Williams' bio is up, for all you ladies. Also, Tyler, in typical form, answered half the questions then signed off out of nowhere. So half of his is up. Also, Tyler has moved up from worthless rhythm guitarist who doesn't come to practices, to producer of our stuff, cause he's a beast with his new digital recorder that we're gonna be recording on. Also, it's his birthday tomorrow, so I figure we should be nice to the guy. <~>

2/24/03
The Groupies and Roadies links are up. <~>

2/24/03
Okay, now remind me to put up a Roadies link along with the Groupies link. Also, we started recording today and we'll hopefully have the first song to download off the site (perhaps with words, perhaps not) by next week. Hopefully. <~>

2/23/03
Also, someone remind me to put up the Groupies link. Lara, Kristen, Kat, and Lindsey are all guaranteed ones. IM me (Brad) if you would like to be a groupie. You won't regret it. <~>

2/23/03
Dear everyone,
Due to multiple people asking me if they could come hear us, since the site came up, you should be informed that we love for anyone and everyone to come hear us, especially if you actually want to, rathern than us begging for someone to. And we like honest opinions. We also like if you have good taste in music. We normally play Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays at Ben's house. Just IM one of us and tell us you're coming or ask for directions or follow us from school. We'd love to see any of you there. <~>

2/22/03
Aaron's bio is up. <~>

2/21/03
Brad and Ben made a question for Bios. They also answered them. These answers are up. Go. <~>

2/20/03
This is the website for the band consisting of Brad East, Tyler Richards, Aaron Self, Ben Strickland, and Sean Williams. We use the term "band" loosely, because we have yet to play a show or record any songs for a tape, demo, or cd. Brad and Aaron have been playing together since the fall of 2001, then in the spring of 2002 started playing with Ben and Tyler. Sean sang with Brad and Aaron for the first time earlier this month. Within the next week or two, we are looking to record our first song (onto a tape) at Ben's church. Tyler is also getting a digital recording device that will let us record music then add vocals over it, and put it onto my computer and burn cds with our music somewhat good quality. Brad has written countless lyrics, 5-10 of which are alright. We have 7 original songs completed music-wise, with words and singing put to four of them. We may cover Circles by Incubus, and if not perhaps a song by Tool, or suggestions from people that aren't crap. That is all for now. Thank you to everyone who's come and heard us play at Ben's and told us what you think, and thank you in advance to anyone who listens to us, or comes to a show, or likes us in the future. Lyrics,        pro     da, bios, fabricated news, shows, false tabs, and links will come shortly. Goodbye.
