For any who haven't seen this movie (and should be disemboweled!), it's Bram Stoker's story of a Romanian knight named Dracula, who goes ape shit and renounces God when his wife kills herself. But, that's WAY back in 1462, so let's fast forward to the present (the past) to 1897, where John Harker (Keanu Reeves) is sent to Transylvania to close a deal with a Count Dracula (Gary Oldman). Dracula is an old weirdo w/ a sentient shadow, a REALLY big robe, and a hairdo that looks like a giant ass! John is held hostage by Drac's vamp babes, while Drac goes to London, looking MUCH younger (say 3 centuries!), and seduces John's fiance Nina (Wynona Ryder) after "ravaging" her friend Lucy. Abe Van Helsing (Anthony Hopkins) is called in to diagnose Lucy, and files her under "N" for "Nosferatu"! Yep, Lucy becomes a vamp! But, Abe stakes and beheads her soon after she vomits blood on him. Well, John escapes, marries Nina, and Drac chomps Nina's neck while Abe, John, and the drunken posse rip up Drac's London home. Now, Drac must return to Trannsylvania before he dies from lack of home soil. But, the boys are too quick and they slash Drac's throat after killing his gypsies. In a final act of "love", Nina impales Drac with a sword to end his pain. This movie was AMAZING, I thought that Oldman did a great job as Drac and Hopkins did Van Helsing enviously! Also the weird ghostly images throughout the movie kicked various forms of ass! Finally, Tom Waits was also awesome as Renfield! See it NOW!
Sequels: Nope (though there are ALOT of Dracula flicks)
