Why is this a cult classic?! Someone tell me why this barely-mediocre zombie movie is so fucking popular!! It's like the popularity behind "Star Trek"! Mortals make NO sense to me what-so-ever! Despite the zombie/shark fight and the classic "splinter-in-the-eye" scene, I don't get it! Ever since NoLD, zombie movies are about a group of saps getting stuck in some building and getting their asses eaten in the end! Except for a select few, all zombie movies follow this pattern! Besides, I don't like voodoo zombies in a jungle setting anyway. I'm more into governmental accident zombies wreaking havoc on residential America. I think the island of Mahtool (insert thinnly-veiled dick joke where necessary) should be sank after this movie. Despite the guy's Daily Planet T-shirt, I was NOT amused. Sorry Fulchi, but great zombie make-up only goes so far. Oh, and by the way, for those of you who didn't know, DAWN OF THE DEAD was released in Europe as ZOMBIE. THIS was released as ZOMBIE 2, trying to cash in on Romero in Europe. After this, came such terrible Italian zombie flicks as... BURIAL GROUND! Stupid Europeans! Now, I shall "digest" that left-over soul pizza I had for breakfast. Happy yak shaving!
